Wake up Mikey, you are already mandated to buy health insurance of the type APPROVED by Obamacare requirements.
Oh, I have no doubt whatsoever than senator Cruz will do quite well on the debate stage. My concern is about actual experience in bringing enough legislators together to pass bills of his liking. Has he demonstrated that ability in the US Senate? Speech and debating skills do not always result in proposals becoming bills and bills becoming laws. Senator Cruz has those skills in abundance, yet his record of accomplishments in US Congress is sketchy at best.
Should he get elected president, will he be able to unite enough congress critters to pass his agenda? It is an open question, which can not be answered based on his record in US Senate. On the other hand, every governor has experience on how to do exactly that in state legislatures and a record for all to see.
You are however absolutely right in that Ted Cruz is a better candidate than the much admired governor from Alaska.
It's quite clear that nobody, including Cruz, is going to "bring people together to pass a conservative agenda" in this Congress Not with this leadership.
And, as President, Cruz woul have the leverage to turn over the Congressional leadership. Recall that GWB was able to do this.
Personally, I think Jeff Sessions would make a marvelous Majority Leader...
However, you'll note that, on several key votes, more GOP Senators than you might think are voting with Cruz than are voting with McConnell.
Take a look at the Cromnibus, the debt limit, etc.
“Walker also has some negatives.”
One thing is that he generates all the excitement of a flea circus. In a general election he will lose in a landslide. There is no way he will win. He’s boring. You have to have a certain amount of charisma to win the Presidency. He will be the Mitt Romney of 2016.
The only two people we have that can take it to Hillary in a way that is effective but does not seem too harsh are Cruz and Trump. Anybody else and we lose.
LOL....
Right, you mean the same professionals that had Romney winning last time?
No thanks!
You are such a shallow thinker. If Romney had won, we would not have justice kagan & sotomayor. May be then same-sex marriage would have failed by SCOTUS. Breaking news...gay marriage is now legal in USA for ever, per SCOTUS decision!
You are right about the boring and dull personality of Walker. And between Cruz & Trump, Trump has a better chance, only because he is not hated so intensely by the liberals and the media. That is a huge impact on elections.
I actually believe Trump can steal a lot of disillusioned Democrats like Reagan did.
Who would we have had...another Roberts? A Kennedy perhaps?
or may be another Alito, or Thomas...nominated by Bush.
Romney was strong against gay marriage.
With Obama, gay marriage was guaranteed.
I am not sure Romney wasn’t for Gay marriage in MA. I will check.
I believe Reagan gave us Thomas...did he not? Or, was it Bush Sr?
