Conservative radio host Glenn Beck said on his show Monday that he's "not sure" Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is able to "govern."
Beck made the comment while discussing each of the potential GOP presidential nominees and what he saw as their ability to lead.
"We are looking at unbelievable times ahead of us," Beck said. "And I would say on this, I'm not sure [Cruz] could get the coalition together. He'll be a bulldog and he'll stand for principles but I'm not sure that he could govern. I'm not sure yet."
One of Beck's co-hosts asked how Cruz compared to former president Ronald Reagan.
"Reagan had charm," Beck said. "He had charm."
By contrast, Beck said of former Hewlett-Packard CEO Cary Fiorina, "She could govern."(continued)

Don’t go away mad.
Yeah, I think he’s off his meds.
I am no fan of Glenn Beck.
Hillary was actually fired once by someone leading the Nixon investigation. He said she had no ethics.
You got it just right. Many don’t understand the huge differnece between a Governor and a President. The most important thing for a President is to have a vision of where he wants to lead, and how to get us there. Cruz seems to have a real grasp of the problems we face and how those problems need to be addressed. I like his ideas on boosting the economy, getting rid of regulations and tax reform.
One thing I have noticed about Beck is how he makes completely off the wall comments and gives nothing to back them up. Maybe he is still miffed because Cruz wouldn’t announce on his show. I would be interested to know what Pat and Stu had to say about his comment. They have been big Cruz guys in the past.
Very spot on observations. I enjoyed your post very much.
I hate to say it, but I can’t imagine a country electing a Ted Cruz that twice elected Barry the Wonder Horse.
The same country that elected LBJ and Jimmy Carter later elected Ronald Reagan.
But are we the same country now? BTW, nothing would please me more than to have Ted Cruz in the White House.
I don’t know. We’ll see, won’t we. Glad I have a Plan B now that I didn’t last time.
I didn’t say that Cruz couldn’t govern, I said that there isn’t any evidence that he can.
As for West, getting tutored by Sarah Palin should remedy that situation.
As for Cruz, I would prefer he stay in the senate and take care of business there. I would take Walker over Cruz.
Has Glenn Beck ever held an elected office at any level? That is: Municipal, County, Parish, State or Federal?
Radio and television shock jock and book author.
Because Hitlery has nursed at the public trough for her entire life!
See, I don’t think West nor Cruz would need “tutoring” by anyone-—especially Cruz, who is brilliant. The idea is pretty amusing, really.
I could vote for Walker if necessary, but I don’t trust him. He’s flipped and flopped too often. Campaign trail conversions are pretty worthless to me.
It was said here the other day that Cruz is playing three-dimensional chess while the others are playing checkers; I thought that was quite apt. He’s thinking way ahead of the game.
Opinions differ. Many long time HP employees hated her, she said that things at HP had to change drastically. And then made them.
But when you look at other companies like HP at the time: Sun, Silicon Graphics, Sequent, DEC .. all of them are gone. So, it would be hard to rate her time a total failure. She kept HP alive and helped move them into the current era as a $100 M company.
Probably an appropriate photo for a star trek/sci-fi junkie.
You are a real clown.
From July 2001 to January 2003, Cruz was the director of the Office of Policy Planning at the FTC.
"Cruz faces a steep climb to the nomination and the presidency. But if he can defy the odds and claim the White House, hell bring a level of hands-on experience with the regulatory state and a proven zeal for cutting it down to size that few, if any, of his predecessors could match."
