Ted Cruz, the Texas Republican senator, raised nearly $4 million in the eight days after he announced his presidential campaign, according to The Wall Street Journal. Whats important about that number is that almost all of it came in amounts of less than $100.
Thats a big change for Mr. Cruz. During his Senate run in 2012, 80 percent of the money he collected from individuals were in donations of $200 or more, the threshold for when donors names are listed on Federal Election Commission reports.
Assuming The Journals report is correct that about 95 percent of the donations raised in late March came in contributions of less than $100, it could mean that Mr. Cruz has raised nearly as much money from small-dollar donors in eight days (an estimate is between $2 million and $3 million) as he did for his Senate political action committee during the previous four years ($2.9 million). We wont know the donor breakdown until April 15.
Running for president does provide a much different platform for fund-raising than a Senate campaign does, with live-streaming of Mr. Cruzs announcement at Liberty University and the media attention of being the only major candidate officially in the race. But Mr. Cruzs early ability to capitalize on the attention by bringing in money from small-dollar donors has two long-term implications....

Fantastic. Maybe it's time to send another small donation.
My $50.00 was well spent.
Actually, a fair article in this new york newspaper.
They will be grating and whiny and false and they will make us all and lots of Hispanics really upset.
Yep, all that money Jeb is raising is going to go down the toilet and the stink is gonna permeate our nostrils and put Ted over the edge.
They’d better hurry up:

Somehow, I don't Cruz is going to have that problem. In fact, I'm guessing we'll see quite the opposite.
Not only that, but I’ll bet that I’m not the only “peon” bundler working on raising tens, hundreds of thousands or millions for him from their homes.
So Vet, are you going to teach us all how to raise that kind of money from our homes? :)
I use “Who’s Who In America” and look for profiles that are listed as Republicans, Libertarians or Independents. Then I use the White Pages to look up their phone numbers and give them a call. Another thing to do is find your local (or other area’s) chamber of commerce website and call members. Plus, there are chambers for various ethic groups that you might use. Another thing is Facebook and Twitter, which I don’t do, as I’m not a social media person. FReepmail me with any questions.
CORRECTION: Due to an editing error, previous version of this story incorrectly classified Cruzs spots as radio ads.

After getting one of his emails requesting donations, I went to the link to donate $100. That wasn’t one of the pre-selected amounts, so I used the box to write in the amount & sent it. For some reason, it went for $15.00 & after checking my account, that is all that was debited. I called his office this morning to let them know.
I won’t be at all surprised if Sheldon Adelson backs Cruz. He was a huge contributor to Newt’s campaign. Cruz may be even smarter than Newt and without the baggage.
I have not donated yet. However, in the morning a 100 dollar check will be in the mail for "Ted Cruz the Constitutionalist"
When BJ Clinton first ran for office Serpent Head James Carville coined the phrase, "It is the Economy Stupid" and it worked. I like this phrase for Cruz, "It is the Constitution and the Law."
Sending him some money very soon.
Does anyone have the latest amount of money he has raised so far ?
Hope he buys some in Florida to, Florida is a early critical state, but he must get South Carolina.
