Texas Sen. Ted Cruzs newly minted presidential campaign is the media equivalent of a juicy rib-eye that robbers use to distract a guard dog during a heist. Hell get a ton of media attention, and hell get to spread his message which may be all that Cruz is after but Cruz almost certainly has no shot of winning the nomination, according to every indicator that predicts success in presidential primaries.
First, Cruz doesnt have enough support from party bigwigs. To win the Republican or Democratic nomination, you need the backing of at least some of the party apparatus. At a minimum, your fellow party members shouldnt hate you. Otherwise, you end up getting the Newt Gingrich 2012 treatment. That is, you get pounced on the moment youre seen as a threat to win the nomination.
If were ever in a world where it looks like Cruz could win the nomination, youll very likely see such pouncing. You can read article after article about how Cruz has isolated himself in the Senate. It got so bad that he recently had to apologize to his Republican colleagues.
And the Cruz hatred doesnt stop at the edges of the Senate cloakroom. Influential party actors dislike him, too. I cant remember another Republican who united Ann Coulter, Pat Robertson, Jennifer Rubin and Thomas Sowell in opposition....

We really shouldn’t kid ourselves about Cruz. What this guy is spouting in this article is a mix of the common political wisdom and, no doubt, his personal hatred for everything we and Ted Cruz stand for.
If this election is ‘business as usual’ he is going to turn out to be right.
But as someone noted in a previous post, Cruz is (easily) the class of the field. He is our guy and we are going to have the fight of our lives on our hands if we expect him to be sworn in as President of the United States in 2017.
Looks like the "Pajama Boy's" younger brother.
Well, he’s still gonna run... if that’s OK with Harry
The day I pay attention to the whinings of a punk, go ahead and put me in a rest home.
Yea, they said the same thing about Reagan.
If he knocked Rubio out of the box its a good thing.
Looks like a little liberal sh#thead that I could even take in a fight.
He expresses his faith in God, too. Democrats hate that.
The kid even threw in a comparison to Barry Goldwater to make sure his slam was complete.
Did this kid cite any 538 polling? Not clickin on it.
Above Q?
The kid had the part correct about the GOP party elite pouncing if it looks like Cruz has a chance. And the kid has obviously been studying. He misses experience but you gotta hand it to him on effort. The comments on here about his looks are beneath FR. What he looks like is the level of school yard debate.
Bttt
The nasty barking of a rabis infected mad dog? Harry Enten sounds like he needs psychiatric help. His disjointed, foaming at the mouth, empty screed tells us a lot more about him than about Ted Cruz.
How is a 2011 grad a senior ... anything?
Lets be serious about Ted Cruz from the start: Hes currently perceived as too extreme and too disliked to win. He needs to convince the voters that he can win and the party leadership that he's so popular with conservatives and with others whom he has brought to his side in this election that they cannot afford to stop him. Fortunately, he has already started a campaign to do just that. We'll see if he succeeds, but that is the purpose of the primaries.

A leftist brainwash institution. According to them, Winston Churchill or his view of historical analysis never existed?
Buahahahahahahahaha!
Ted Cruz is highly respected and liked by millions.
Now this little wickety-doo, gurly man expects us to believe him?
And this from the crowd that gave us Hussein Baraka and the latest leftist romantic world view entitled , “ World On Fire!”
Eff him!

That was before. We the people are sick and tired of being told who we can and can not have running for office. By the “party” and by asshats in the media. And if you think Cruz is too extreme you ain’t seen nothing yet. The gloves are coming off the next election.
lol.
LOL.
I’m not reading his drivel either.
Sorry.
