While I was lamenting the fact that Barack Obamas term will be over in 2016, and to bad he couldnt run for office again because he would surely win, a friend suggested that maybe Michelle Obama could run up against Hillary Clinton. Talk about an epiphany, I was estatic that he made this suggestion and for a moment I imagined the possibility.
After all, Bill Clinton was president and now Hillary is running, so why not Michelle Obama? Since we can be sure Michelle is supportative of her husbands accomplishments and goals, we can also feel confident she would cotinue in his vein. Barack Obama will leave office with so much more he would like to mend for this country, and having Michelle as commander and chief Americans would enjoy the benefits of his their vision.
I have no doubt that if Michelle announces her intent to run, she would immediately have the support of Americans needed to win. I encourage the first lady to consider running and know that in doing so she will be immensely appreciated by a majority who want to see the working and middle class gain higher ground against the forces that hold us back.
Your e-mails: On the state of the nation
In light of President Bush's State of the Union speech, CNN.com asked readers to say what they think the state of the union is, inviting them to write an address of their own.
The following is a selection of the responses, some of which have been edited for length and clarity:
Preston Brady III of Mobile, Alabama
My fellow Americans, it is with disappointment and a feeling of sadness that I report to you the State of our troubled Union today, January 23, 2007. It is now clear and beyond anyone's doubt the losing war in Iraq weighs heavy on the minds of many of you, and is of considerable concern to most Americans. Americans no longer believe the phrase "sectarian violence" in the daily reports of bombings in Iraq, and now most believe what many have been saying for months: Civil war has a death grip on Iraq, and America cannot and has no business in that affair. We tried and did what we could to help Iraq, and now is the time to step up and accept the truth: We failed, and it's time to bring our boys and girls back home. Have you ever heard the phrase, "Some people don't want your help"? Well, it's true, and in Iraq the civil war between Shiite and Sunni peoples may continue for many, many years.
Ladies and gentlemen, the fact is they were fighting before we invaded Iraq over four years ago, and they will likely be fighting four, eight, 12 years from today. And the fact is also, times have changed and we have our own problems here in America. The division this war has caused, turning us into "cons" and "libs," must be undone and America must once again be united -- the United States of America. It is undeniably clear the current administration will not be leading the way in our rebirth, if you will, and so it is important for us to look ahead to next year, when we have the opportunity to elect a new president and take a whole new path here and abroad. And although it is still early in the process, I step forward now and endorse the election of Barack Obama as the next president of the United States. I hope you will join me and let us all look forward to rejuvenation and continue journeys for more peace in the world -- peace, not wars.

to bad, indeed.
The woman has the UGLIEST arms, hand and fingers I have ever seen in my life.
Their proportion is just hideous. I mean she looks like Frankestein’s monster... EW!
All that being said, she runs and wins, I leave America.
That’s it, I’m done, can’t frickin’ take anymore.
Insane article
Commander and chief???
Part of me looks at the whole Hillary email thing and thinks this is an Obama effort to get her out of the way. Who better to continue his failed policies with authoritarian conviction than Michelle, who has shown a desire to control every element of Americans’ lives down to our childrens’ lunches?
Any one else’s Gaydar going off?
oh sure.
why don’t we just scrap the whole failed experiment and
ask the Brits to take us back in?
at least that way we’d have a monarchy without having to bother electing it every 4 years
I think the cat is trying to say: Help Me! Help Me!

she’s still a lot prettier sight than Hillary or Pelosi
Maybe before she runs, Michelle should go to a spirit medium and contact Lurleen Wallace.
> shes still a lot prettier sight than Hillary or Pelosi
Or Helen Thomas. But that's not what we're supposed to elect our leaders on.
Otherwise we'd have never elected either Washington or Lincoln, neither of which were beauty queens.
I don't give a damn what she looks like. What concerns me is, she's a dangerous demented power-mad leftist wacko. That's why she should be kept away from being President.
And what's with the writer? "Commander and chief" -- WTF??
Joke article? On what planet is this guy living on?
Want to bet he has a masters degree?
A new form of Pornography, mental snuff articles.
If we’re intent on self-destruction then we might as well take the express bus.
Preston Brady III is effin senile.
