The Sarah Palin who returned to the GOP stage Thursday had no props, few Palinisms, and just a ghost of her former folksy twang. So what if there were still falsehoods? Palin 2016!
Failed reality television star and mistress of liberal America Sarah Palin is strutting out onstage at CPAC, clad in a white blazer and black skirt. She places her water bottle on the floor next to the podium and opens a binder.
A typical Palin speech usually involves props: Dr. Seuss books or Big Gulp sodas. This year, she has none.
A typical Palin speech is usually an incoherent string of Palinisms haphazardly strung together in her folksy twang. This year, she is subdued and barely has any accent at all.
What the hell is going on? Have the last six years of Palin’s public life just been performance art? Has she purposefully been lowering the bar for her public appearances so that she could come out and impress just ahead of Republican primary season?
Palin opens with a story about George Washington being “overcome with emotion” over America’s first veterans. She asks if America has lived up to Washington’s hope that veterans be treated well and notes the obvious: It hasn’t.
She speaks of her own experience as the mother of a soldier: “Moms can’t be there when they hurt. I could pray and I did and I do, but few things are more difficult than to kiss a child goodbye, off into harm’s way, knowing that you’re not going to be there to protect…Those first deployments, that’s when a mother goes from calling him son to calling him sir.”
The war on terror, Palin notes, is the longest in America’s history and has cost thousands of lives, and damaged many thousands more with PTSD and insufficient health care—or a complete lack of treatment: “They wait for months, they wait for years to get treatment at the VA…We demand that the vets are first in line!”
Palin pivots to foreign policy: “Did we actually win in Iraq and Afghanistan before we waved the white flag? The jury is still out.”
The rise of ISIS, Palin says, “It doesn’t look like victory…the Middle East is a tinderbox, and it is coming apart at the seams.”
Palin claims the rise of ISIS “was predictable. Military brass warned the left: Do not pull out without residual force…The rise of ISIS is the direct result of this administration’s refusal to heed that warning.”
The speech isn’t completely devoid of Palinisms, however—though compared to speeches past, they kind of make sense: “While Christians pray for you, radical Islamists want to cut off your head.”
And it isn’t lacking in falsehoods, either. Palin needles State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf for saying that “we cannot kill our way out of this war.”
“Oh, really?” Palin asks. “Tell that to the Nazis! Oh wait, you can’t—they’re dead!”
Some Nazis are very much alive and were, in fact, receiving Social Security payments from the United States government until late 2014, when President Obama signed into law a bill that banned them from continuing to collect.
But never mind that. Palin 2016!
There were no ISIS or Al Queda willing to fight until Obama surrendered.

Agreed. More experience, more leadership ability, more solid moral values. None of the other candidates measure up to all that. I like Cruz, but I see him as a much-needed leader in congress, which is where his experience lies.
I would vote for her in a heartbeat, and yes, i have considered the others.
The whole country, even the whole of Europe, was something of a “concentration camp” during the Nazi period.

LOL, OK, but be warned ... unnamed sources have stated that the blonde described below is probably Olivia Nuzzi.
A blonde had just gotten a new sports car and was out for a drive when she accidentally cut off a large truck.
The driver was outraged and was eventually able to make her pull over.
He got out of his truck and pulled a piece of chalk from his pocket. He drew a circle on the side of the road and gruffly commanded to the blonde in his most threatening voice, "Stand in that circle and DON'T MOVE!"
He then went to her car and cut up her leather seats.
When he turned around she had a slight grin on her face, so he said, "Oh you think that's funny? Watch this!"
He gets a baseball bat out of his truck and breaks every window in her car.
When he turns and looks at her she has a smile on her face.
Now he's getting really mad. He gets his knife back out and slices all her tires.
Now she's laughing.
The truck driver is really starting to lose it. He goes back to his truck and gets an extra can of diesel fuel, pours it on her car and sets it on fire.
He turns around and she is laughing so hard she is about to fall down.
"What's so funny?" the truck driver asked the blonde.
She replied, "Every time you weren't looking, I stepped outside the circle!"

I was just reading the 70 years after WWII thread with the old newspapers.
A group of GI infantry went into the German town with 3 Sherman tanks. Immediatly they were surrounded by over a thousand Nazi soldiers. They were all shouting.
“We surrender, we surrender!”
Man I worked for in the 1980s was from Germany.
He was too young to have been in the war but he had a friend that was a Nazi officer. The guy I worked for was scared to death of him.
Nazi SOB got in my face once and told me I wasn’t to disagree with him even if he was wrong.
I told him this wasn’t Nazi Germany and I would talk to him any way I pleased.
He was someone you could see running a concentration camp.
He just had that air about him, loved barking orders as if he was still important.
