Cruz channels his inner televangelist.
If the Conservative Political Action Conference meeting is a sort of American Idol for would-be GOP presidential candidates, the contenders arent learning from the mistakes of previous losers.
After the 2012 elections when Republicans lost the White House to an incumbent under fire for the still-struggling economy some sensible people in the party (South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham is one of them) uttered an important truth: The Republicans, to be successful, cant just be against things. They have to be for something, have to present a positive and innovative vision for America.
Were not seeing a lot of that at the CPAC conference. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (who indeed wowed the crowd) said hes ready to deal with the Islamic State group because of his experience dealing with public sector unions in the Badger State. Now, its not nice or politically smart to compare public workers with brutal, murderous terrorists. And it looks pretty naive, as well, since it makes Walker look like he doesnt understand the difference between workers who vehemently are trying to protect their workplace rights with people who are willing to torture and kill people in the most barbarous of ways. Duh. And who do you think U.S. News and World Report would love to see as the republican presidential nominee in 2016? Could it possibly be Pansy Graham?
Sounds like there were some direct hits.
Those attending see Jeb Bush and wonder how a democrat got in.
“But to win you have to have a message that YES we can.”
Yes we can...say NO to Fascism!
Idiot journalists seemed to only care about Walker and Bush. I like Walker but Cruz is the one with passion.
Those lefty media charges of Walker comparisons of ISIS to union protestors were never made and are zimmerizations.
Zimmered,= present tense Zimmerized= past tense Zimmerations=plural= def An agenda driven political mendacious narrative used to demean and demonize that subject’s activity or statement.
The problem is this is being repeated and attacked by some “conservative” talkshow hosts with out replaying what Walker actually said.
disregarded her advice when she wrote “some sensible people in the party (South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham is one of them) “
Yeah, I'd go for that.
Did you get to hear Phil Robertson? I loved his, "Stand on your Bible, your Constitution and hold on to your weapons!"
