Cruz needles Romney in front of South Carolina activists
The Houston Chronicle's Texas Politics ^ | January 18, 2015 | Theodore Schleifer

Ted Cruz delivered on Sunday what looked like a dry run of his 2016 presidential stump speech to the South Carolina activists who will help decide that election.

In his first visit to the state, which will host the third presidential primary in February 2016, since October, Cruz told the state’s Tea Party activists that nominating a moderate in 2016 would lead Republicans to lose just like they have when those moderates led the ticket in the past.

“If we nominate another candidate in the mold of a Bob Dole or a John McCain or a Mitt Romney, all of whom are good, honorable decent men,” said Cruz, needling Romney a week after he expressed interest in running a third time, “the same people who stayed home in ’08 and ’12 will stay home in 2016 and the Democrats will win again.”

Cruz’s speech to the 1,500 activists at the South Carolina Tea Party Convention gave him an opportunity to mingle with those who volunteer and raise small-dollar donations for presidential campaigns. Two other potential presidential candidates, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and neurosurgeon Ben Carson, also have that chance this weekend at the event in Myrtle Beach....

Have to say it, but has anyone heard anything about Scott Walker, would like to tell him, “Would you kindly show Rommey down for the wimp that he is. Thank you”.

He probably didn’t mention the caterer or janitorial company, either. Big deal.

No one has ever won a war by only playing defense.
Cruz is saying what we have all been saying.

And it is these same people who did not vote for Romney gave America to King Obama. Which of the two would destroy America? Well, it should be no question after the first term of King Obama that he would finish America in a second. Any idiot should be able to tell the difference. Too bad we have so many ignorant Republicans to question the candidate that the primary selected. Same thing, no matter who is selected for 2016, the same idiots will vote for communists Democrats by not voting like spoiled children.

Nope.

It was your crappy, pretend Republican candidate, Mitt Romney, who supported and supports, Abortion, the Gay Agenda, Amnesty, Socialized Medicine and had no limited government solutions that gave us King Obama.

Apply the blame where it belongs!

"That damned Cruz fella's upsetting the apple cart! Here's your chance! Run in 2016, and you've got a lock in South Carolina; that'll screw him up in the south!"

"OK, John!"

"Good boy! Now, Mitch and Reince promise their help, so go get 'em!"

So you’re admitting that you next-to-nothing about Mitt Romney or the LDS?

Nope! No Romney, no Bush, no Huckabee, no Graham.....vote Cruz or Walker.

We don't need any more fake Republicans running for president. What we need is a strong conservative that doesn't support ObamaCare or Common Core!

Ahem, Senator Cruz! I didn't stay home! I voted for the most conservative candidate on the ballot, Virgil Goode.

No, there will be many more who will stay home or write in the name of a true conservative instead of voting for the Democrat-Lite candidate foisted on us by the Chamber of Amnesty’s big bucks. And that is a promise.

And then a liberal democrat became the father of gay marriage, socialized medicine, islamic apology, and downfall of the American economy instead of the liberal republican running against him. Instead of a liberal republican president destroying any chance we had of keeping the House and taking the Senate, we have accomplished both -- with unprecedented numbers. And the presidential election is today a "sure thing" unless the GOP-E throws it away with another Romney'esque candidate. This is chess, not checkers. You have to sacrifice a piece now and then if you want to win. And giving up Romney was an easy decision. I'll make it again with no regrets.
