Will the latest news about Ted Cruz hurt his chances for the 2016 GOP nomination? Click to learn the betting odds for the junior Texas senator and other contenders for the Oval Office.
When Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was a teenager, he was caught doing teenage things, as revealed in documents obtained by BuzzFeed.
In his application to become Texas solicitor general, Cruz was required to list any prior convictions. That included one "guilty plea for minor in possession of alcohol."
Apparently when Cruz was a high school senior in 1987, authorities found an unopened case of beer in his vehicle. They gave him a ticket....

The horror...the horror.
I tell you one thing least our President caindate know how to party LOL!
Obama admitted that he used drugs, but they gave him a pass.
I think it’s fair to know what the enemedia is reporting and trying to float out there. Pretending a smear doesn’t exist doesn’t do well.
The Houston Comical has been caught (via an internally leaked memo) RED handed attempting to use the news sections of the newspaper to smear Republican politicians and editorialize.
In the case of the memo, it was about going on a witchhunt after Tom DeLay because he opposed federal funding of the downtown business establishment’s fail rail line.
One reason I liked to run around with the police chief’s son
It doesn't matter if it is out early. MSM will throw up several such nothings loudly and with high indignation and repeat them endlessly. It will cost a lot of votes. The charge could be that he skipped breakfast on a Wednesday when he was 14 years old. It will have the same effect. It truly is not the charge itself that is effective, it is the repetition and the extreme moral condemnation that accompanies it. Only a Reagan can survive that kind of onslaught. Reagans happen very rarely. No extant Republican has shown the Reagan attitude and abilities.
That made me chuckle out loud. Thank you.
Don’t love it. In the last elections it has proved highly effective. Bush â was almost derailed by this sort of thing.
yeppers the Mormons are quite socialable to guests you know..
the liquor is supposedly for those guests friends, business acquaintances, who like to imbibe..
wouldn’t do to be rude..
anyhoo, Willard admitted in 2012 that he used to get into Big Daddy’s licker...
Time will tell.
That is why I am for the Dole/McCain ticket. We need solid, god-fearing men as candidates. I would consider a serious Mormon like Mitt. THIS may be the planet he has been assigned to rule as a God!
This is hilarious! A high school student with a case of beer?
A sure sign of the apocalypse.
Did he steal the beer, shoot the store owner, loot the store and hijack the car he was caught driving????
Take two aspirin and call me tomorrow, I'm totally undone.
LOL. Keep in mind that the reason that this made it into print is that the Houston Chronicle editors are stupid enough to think that it will matter to conservative voters.
He volunteered the Minor in Possession plea when he was up for Solicitor General Texas. The fact that he could have kept a sealed Minor thing quiet and did not, speaks loudly about his character.
This sounds too much like old Opposition Research by DoWorst from the Senate race.
If this is all they can dredge up, then Hello President Ted.
I was in HS in the late 70’s, small town rural America. Cops in my town would stop us and take our beer - to their house. There were two town Marshals and I doubt either one ever had to buy any beer.
This just reinforces my belief that Cruz is more All-American than the traitor in the white house.
Like Rush always says: Liberals always tell us who they are most afraid of.
Sen. Cruz scares the pants off them because he is most likely to beat anyone they put up against him.
Fun thread. We really ought to send it to the Chronic. ;-)
