Sarah Palin To Campaign for Pat Roberts in Kansas Amid Lingering Grassroots Anger
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | September 23, 2014 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Sarah Palin will campaign for incumbent Republican Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) in Independence, Kansas on Thursday. Roberts is in need of help from the Tea Party favorite, as recent polls show he trails independent Greg Orman in this fall's general election.

Last week, the Kansas State Supreme Court granted Democratic nominee Chad Taylor's request to be removed from the ballot, setting up a two-person race between Roberts and Orman.

Roberts defeated Tea Party challenger Dr. Milton Wolf in the August 5 Republican primary by a relatively narrow margin of 47% to 41% in a bitterly personal contest that left many grassroots activists in Kansas disgusted with the heavy handed tactics of the Republican establishment. Roberts was hurt by Wolf's attacks on his residency claims, a weakness that may have sparked the strange turn of events that led to the withdrawal of Taylor and the rise in the polls of Orman.

The question is how far Palin's appearance in Kansas on behalf of Roberts will go to bring the embittered grassroots back to the Republican side....

It will be interesting to see the size of the crowds Sarah draws. If the crowds are small, it’s over for Roberts. That means even Sarah Palin can’t save him. Roberts, and Thad Cochran in Mississippi, don’t make many campaign appearances and when they do, the crowds are small. Let’s see what Sarah can do. I repeat: If the crowds for Sarah are small...... turn out the lights..... the party’s over.

Roberts is not at all like Cochran rather he is like McDaniel’s in so far as voting records. I guarantee you the Republican establishment has a hate from Brownback and Roberts. In Roberts case they are supporting him only because they need the senate and he is their only hope. In Brownback’s case the Kansas GOP Elite threw him out and endorsed asswipe Paul Davis the democrat.

First of all, your notion that Gov. Palin has to be “paid” to make an endorsement is the kind of **** I expect to see at a site like Democratic Underground or Daily Kos. Is that where you came from or are you an operative from OFA?

I’m surprised you say that’s a good thing. It sounds like to me she is firing up the Liberal voting base to be even more intense about defeating Roberts. Just sayin’

It's hard to say. The chance at knocking off an incumbent Republican Senator is going to really fire up the Liberals alone. With capabilities like "Catalist" the Libs have what has been accurately called a "ferocious" ground-game, nation-wide.

So it's arguable that the Liberal base is already fired up to the point where, helped by their big-data GOTV advantage, they'll max their turnout, regardless. While having Palin come in and endorse Roberts could fire up the Conservative base enough to present an effective counter.

This ongoing conversation does illustrate some of the differences between the GOP and Dems when it comes to accepting the word (or even just the presence) of surrogates as a good enough reason to support a candidate.

Case in point, in KY the Democrat challenging McConnell, Alison Grimes, is now moving far right and trying to sell herself as a Sarah Palin clone. Which should, if anything, depress turnout among the Liberal enclaves in places like Louisville and Lexington.

But despite the fact that KY Libs should be really ticked that "their" Senate candidate is running commercials playing up gun rights, support for coal and opposition to the EPA, they won't be. Reason why is that a few weeks back Elizabeth Warren parachuted in to endorse. So they know, with a wink and a nod, that Grimes is really one of them. Because Warren wouldn't be new BFFs with Grimes if she wasn't.

Conservatives don't seem to have this same sort of trusting relationship with our heros, like Palin.

That shouldn’t be too difficult; Kansas has been Moderate for decades. Pulling them a little farther left should not be much of a problem.

So you admit you are a democrat plant who will be voting for Progressive Orman. I know your type. They come from Kansas City, Missouri into Kansas and want to start stuff. Have signs for every lame ass Democrat running on their lawns. Idiots all of them.

I don’t even live in Kansas and if I did, I wouldn’t vote for Orman; nor would I vote for Roberts. I voted for my Senator from Texas, Ted Cruz, 2 years ago. And, FWIW, you don’t know me so why don’t you bite me punk.

Sounds to me like she is from the Orman camp here to spread false information. Trying to tie Roberts to Thad Chran when Pat Robert is basically a mirror image of Wyoming’s Mike Enzi.

Are you saying that she is making that trip and endorsing him for “free”? That is how “poliical people” make most of their income. And, FWIW, I’ve never been to the Democrat Underground or Daily Kos website, but I’m not surprised that you frequent them, probably as much as you frequent the sicko, pervert porn websites.

If she supported Mitt over Obummer, it shows her brain power is at Albert Einstein level.

If conservatives do not support the Republican party, the party will move further Left.

They way to get the conservative voice heard is to be reliable supporters of the party and to become active in the party organization.

If you sit on your tail and complain, like in 2012, politicians will simply count you out and work on gaining the votes of those who remain. I.e., move to the Left.

I have noticed a common thread among many posters calling republicans RINO's.

Very seldom they site specific issues on which they differ from the so called RINO.

And if they do specify the issue, which is rare, they ALWAYS fail to state the democrat opponent's position on the same exact issue.

Democrat trolls trying to suppress republican turnout?
May be not all, but this pattern repeats ad nauseum.
