Mitt Romney loyalists are trying to gin up the narrative that Republicans just can't get enough of Romney.
Democrats dont want to be associated with Barack Obama right now, but Republicans are dying to be associated with Mitt Romney, Spencer Zwick, "a longtime Romney confidant who chaired his national finance council," claimed to the Washington Post. The Chamber of Commerce, which has vowed to wage war on the Tea Party and push through amnesty legislation, glowingly praised Romney, alleging he would be in a "commanding position" if he entered the 2016 race.
Romney is reportedly set to make trips to West Virginia, North Carolina, Arkansas, Colorado, and Virginia to campaign for Republicans. Yet besides the media, most of the people clamoring for another Romney "comeback" are his loyalists and closest advisers, who defied all statistical models to lose an election many thought should never have been lost.
In a July article for Politico Magazine, Emil Henry, who "served in multiple roles in the 2012 campaign, including adviser to the economic team, television surrogate and fundraiser," laughingly alleged that "Romney is re-emerging as the de facto leader of the Republican Party."

If you vote for a liberal republican, you ARE a liberal.
What difference does it make if both of them are pro-abortion, pro-amnesty, anti-2nd amendment, for socialized medicine, and for big government.
Romney is a liberal.
I don't vote for liberals. Not even republican liberals.

It wasn't that long ago that an admitted pro-GOPE type ended his tenure here on FR.

More whining, yet.
What a woman you are. Get some stones, will you?
I’m getting the retread vibe, too. Signing up just to defend the pro-Romney deadbeat...starting out with the usual, “I really prefer anyone else over Romney, BUT...”
And I have a Pajama Boy visual in my mind, too.
This is where frankly i think some of you are just plain nuts. Barack Hussein Obama has done so much damage to this country, YET a few of you are STILL claiming that you would not vote against him.
In the 2012 you had two choices. You already knew how bad Obama was at his job of president. But, to keep up the charade you have going as not really voting for Obama, you claim that Romney was just TOO liberal for you. Obama of course wasnt too liberal. You just couldnt vote for that Romney guy even AFTER the damage Obama did in his first term.
Now, please, dont bother putting out the code red alert to your friends to start attacking me, as is usually the case.
Frankly, I have figured out this place.
You may be happy voting for liberal republicans, but I won't.
You can blow that out your kazoo.
There are more than two candidates on general election ballots, BTW, so there were many more than 2 choices.

I’m grabbing my popcorn for this one. I’ve been saying this for two years as well..
I doubt things would be much different even if Romney did win he was a half-measure, at best but I’d take my chances with someone that loves the country versus a muslim commie abandoned child who was indoctrinated with America hate for his entire life.
Oh, believe me, I know you will NEVER vote for anyone who’s not your ‘perfect’ conservative candidate.
Keep in mind, that no matter who that is, someone else here will find a reason to tell you that your candidate is a liberal.
Meanwhile, the REAL liberal cruises to victory, watching the conservative circular firing squad.
Extra butter on the popcorn, please. Otherwise, it’s tasteless.
Romney didn't match his own Party platform on abortion, amnesty, 2nd Amendment, socialized medicine or big government.
If you want a conservative to win, keep the liberals off of your party ticket.
I'm a conservative, not a republican, so I have no reason to vote for a pro-abortion, pro-amnesty, anti-gun, socialized medicine, big government republican liberal like Romney.
I (along with many others) worked very hard over many years to get rid of the liberal republican Lt. Governor in this State.
He's gone now.
I mean to politically destroy EVERY liberal republican so that they never win election again.
Spend your time supporting conservatives, instead of liberals like Romney.
/johnny
And when your perfect conservative doesn’t win the nomination, why, you’re one of the stomp your feet and tell everyone else to NOT vote for that person, right? Of course you are.
Every single conservative ever talked about here is attacked by a few of the same people. Doesn’t matter who it is.
Who among the 2012 candidates was conservative perfection? Who? They were all routinely attacked by the same few people, claiming to be not conservative enough.
And then what happens? While everyone on the right is yelling at each other, telling each other that voting for Romney (HE’S A LIBERAL, WE’RE TOLD) is horrible, Barack Hussein Obama coasts to victory.
The time to promote your perfect conservative for 2016 is right now. Get out there, post thread after thread about your perfect conservative’s track record, votes, speeches, tweets, facebook posts and everything else. Make SURE that you can defend that candidate’s every word or thoughts against the attacks he or she will receive from others who really want the liberal to win.
So, who’s your candidate for 2016? Surely you have one.
There are conservatives that actually DO match their party platform, though. Romney wasn't a conservative, and he didn't even match his party platform.
You spend a lot of effort in supporting and defending liberal republicans.
I'll continue to spend shoe leather and telephone calls working hard to get conservatives elected.
And, of course, I'll be working hard to politically destroy the liberal republican party.
/johnny
Ok, if you are happy voting for someone who’s not the perfect conservative, how will you handle the attacks from the few here who *DO* attack any conservative?
So, who’s your candidate for 2016? What’s your plan of defense when your candidate, who’s not going to be perfect of course, is called liberal by someone else?
Who’s your candidate for 2016, again?
That's not the way it works.
I haven't seen any real conservatives attacked as being liberal.
I've seen liberal republicans attacked (rightly) for being liberal.
Here's a clue: If a candidate supports abortion, amnesty, gun-control, socialized medicine, or bigger government, that candidate is NOT a conservative. They may be republican (very likely), but they aren't conservative.
/johnny
I really don’t blame you for not naming your candidate for 2016.
If you DO that, the few others here will jump all over you, claiming that your candidate did or thought something in the past that makes him or her liberal.
When your candidate doesn’t win the nomination, will you be all over anyone else who’s voting for the eventual republican candidate? Or will you just realize that the primary process has run its course and maybe......realize that the election will be between the nominees of the two primary parties?
Of course, the circular firing squad will have been in force for some time before that, with the same vocal few attacking all of the candidates for being way too liberal.
At least it keeps this place interesting, huh? Maybe that’s the real end game for some.
As far as candidates go for 2016, it's way too early to even begin selecting a candidate. Your motivation on trying to get me to commit to one is pretty obvious.
I will vote for a candidate that is pro-life, against amnesty, pro-2nd amendment, against socialized medicine, and for smaller government.
Any candidate that doesn't match those things has NO chance for my vote. I don't expect that the republicans will put anyone up that I can vote for.
/johnny
That headline should read : “Republicans are dying by being associated with him”.
Just when you think the Republicans have hit rock bottom, and couldn’t come up with a worse candidate or idea, they get out the dynamite and take the bottom even lower.
I'm not the only one that won't vote for a liberal republican.
They won a lot of primaries this year, let's see how they do in the General election.
John Cornyn can whistle for his supper, because I'm not voting for that liberal bastard.
/johnny
You’re just against republicans, then?
The nomination process will select the candidate. Before every election, I really do believe that most people have a candidate they prefer. One they will work for, make telephone calls, the “shoe leather” work you’ve referred to.
How about Ted Cruz? Rick Perry? Sarah Palin? Would you be willing to devote shoe leather time to any of them?
Or, will you just make it easier to not commit and claim to be “against” republicans?
I've told you the requirements that any candidate has to meet to earn my vote.
It's way too early to begin to think about working for any candidate at this point. Your petulant questions are useless and annoying.
