As far as candidates go for 2016, it's way too early to even begin selecting a candidate. Your motivation on trying to get me to commit to one is pretty obvious.
I will vote for a candidate that is pro-life, against amnesty, pro-2nd amendment, against socialized medicine, and for smaller government.
Any candidate that doesn't match those things has NO chance for my vote. I don't expect that the republicans will put anyone up that I can vote for.

That headline should read : “Republicans are dying by being associated with him”.
Just when you think the Republicans have hit rock bottom, and couldn’t come up with a worse candidate or idea, they get out the dynamite and take the bottom even lower.
You’re just against republicans, then?
The nomination process will select the candidate. Before every election, I really do believe that most people have a candidate they prefer. One they will work for, make telephone calls, the “shoe leather” work you’ve referred to.
How about Ted Cruz? Rick Perry? Sarah Palin? Would you be willing to devote shoe leather time to any of them?
Or, will you just make it easier to not commit and claim to be “against” republicans?
