Sarah Palin hasn’t closed the door yet on a presidential bid. But few Republicans appear to be waiting for her answer.
Never was it clearer than Tuesday, when Chris Christie’s announcement that he would not run in 2012 prompted a throng of strategists to conclude the Republican field was finally set – never mind Palin’s indecision. A new poll published on the same day revealed that two thirds of Republicans don’t want her to run.
After spending the better part of three years in the center of the national political spotlight, the former vice presidential candidate appears to have worn out the patience of the GOP.
Even as Republicans continue to cast about for new options, only a distinct minority are gazing longingly toward Wasilla – or wherever else Palin is in her secretive, largely apolitical travel schedule.
“She stirs up a lot of conservatives in the base, but I don’t think conservatives are looking to her as a presidential nominee who can save the conservative movement,” said Chuck Muth, the Nevada-based conservative activist....

Watching these debates is like watching NFL preseason football.
When Sarah enters everything will change.
I know that there are a LOT of GOP voters waiting for her to enter the race. But I also know that more than a few have moved on and settled on a candidate, like Cain.
However, that could all change if she does indeed announce. It’s a pretty fluid primary so far.
The one constant is that Romney continues to hover around 20%. Sarah will only draw from the Cain/Perry and “undecided” support.
Herman Cain would use the race card on her if she stood in his way. He has shown his colors.
All of a sudden HC would look a lot different to many of you.
Keep dreaming. She’s a reality TV star, not a candidate.
What that tells me is that the "Republican" types Sarah put into Alaskan jails (for some reason: SARC) don't like her.
Sarah is the best thing to happen to the Republican party since Lincoln.
I think Herman Cain knows it too.
I’m looking for Palin to either jump in the race herself or endorse somebody.
She will definitely do one or the other, but she will do it on her own timetable.

The don’t get it,, it’s not up to her to placate the vanity of the GOP. It’s up to the GOP to worry about not wearing out our patience.
The GOP assumes that i as a conservative, will always vote for their candidate no matter how they knowingly offend me, yet, they are never expected to support the conservative that might not be their dream candidate,
The establishment has had their way since 1988,,, no more. At least for me. And no, throwing me a bone of conservative veep to sit quietly in the corner, will not get me into the GOP camp. It’s power or nothing,,,
Flip the question, if she is so popular the why doesn’t she jump in now and run away with the nomination?
Hint: She knows she can’t win, so she ain’t running.
Not sure about the specific polls they're using, but isn't appx. 1/3 the number of Republicans who have expressed no preference on the existing field? You think there just might be a correlation between those two numbers?
That pretty much is all you need to know about this dude.
1. Let's attribute Cain's recent surge in the polls to a combination of several factors:
a. He's a good guy, people like him, and he gave a GREAT speech in Florida.
b. He's benefitted from Perry's rapid implosion
c. He's picked up some Bachmann voters..a min-bandwagon effect.
d. Some Palin supporters may have figured she's not running, and gone for Cain
2. Mitt's gone back into 1st place, but without gaining ANY support. If he can't get into the 40's over the next 4-6 weeks...he's finished.
3. Perry has the next month to show that he can turn it around, otherwise he's also done.
4. If Mitt and Perry noth washout, then look for Palin to get in within 4-6 weeks..she would probably immediately be the front runner.
You know, considering how much she’s done for conservatives, whether you think she should run or not, don’t you think you should have a little more respect? BTW, what reality show is she doing now? I missed it.

I continue to be amused by the quoted polls reflecting 60% of Republican voters don't want her to run. Why is it that when Chris Christie had similar polling results, no one used that as a reason he shouldn't run?
60% saying a candidate shouldn't run are likely supporters of another candidate. On the other hand, if there are 40% indicating they would welcome her running, it's safe to say that a large number of those would be Palin supporters, and no one candidate is currently polling over 30%.
Related, so far this election season, we have had four different candidates who were leading in the polls, Romney, Bachmann, Perry, and now Cain. In real-ville, does anyone think the polls are not going to change again?
That's funny. It looks like Perry kicked @$$ in fundraising this quarter. Looks like not everyone is ready to jump on board with the establishment.
You forgot Trump. Remember, he was leading in the polls not that long ago.
