Four Reasons Why Sarah Palin Will Win
Mark America.com ^ | 20 August 2011 | Mark America

Posted on 08/20/2011 11:45:34 PM PDT by Windflier

I’ve been approached several times today by doubters who advance arguments as to why Sarah Palin cannot win the nomination, or if she secures it, why she can’t defeat Barack Obama.

All of the theories I’ve had pitched in my direction today share a couple common faults, and it’s important to point them out here. The most common reason I’ve heard today is the belief that the Media will destroy her. That’s silly. Is there a single Republican, never mind conservative, who the media will not seek to destroy to defend their darling, Barack Obama?

Anybody who watched the media in action after McCain’s nomination in 2008 should by now be thoroughly disabused of that shoddy notion. The Lame-Stream Media has been trying for three years running to destroy Sarah Palin, and there is no chance, having failed thus far, that they will improve results on their limited success.

The problem is that if the media narrative about a person is based on lies, in the longer run, those lies lose effectiveness as people learn the truth from other sources, and worse yet, the lies come back to haunt their purveyors because once the audience, having originally believed them, in the second instance realizes they’ve been scammed, they will thereafter no longer be inclined to believe another pronouncement given voice by that source.

The second most common flaw in the arguments I’ve been hearing and reading today is the dubious assumption that she’s an intellectual lightweight. Truthfully, there couldn’t be a more ridiculous claim upon which to base one’s criticisms, and yet this is the default argument of those who wish to suggest that Sarah Palin isn’t qualified.

It’s the constant harangue of the elite media types, and it has been a failure repeatedly. They tried to paint a similar picture of Ronald Reagan, and in fact, every Republican in my memory.

It’s a claim that falls on deaf ears in most quarters, because in the final analysis, it’s simply not believable given all she has already accompished. Having covered what critics have said, let me move on to my own list of reasons in opposition to these notions.

I firmly believe that Sarah Palin will run, win the nomination, and ultimately the Presidency.

Then tell Perry to drop out so that the only real Christian in the bunch can get elected.

Do all Palin supporters talk like 6 year olds?

You Perry supporters are trying to Islamize America.

And Perry is no conservative by any measure.

That’s fine, but she had to knock out Perry early if she hopes to win the nomination.

If she enters she will split the conservative vote and we will get stuck with another McCain (Romney)

No, Tonto, she won't, she'll be "the" conservative- the rest will be gasping for the air she sucks out of any room that she enters.

The Left has attacked her and yet, she still stands. The communists and media have spent their wad trying to defeat her and her family, and yet, they still stand.

America didn't know Sarah pre-2008. But it does now and she couldn't have arrived too soon. Face it, the convoluted mess the Left has created over the last 70 years leaves us weak and vulnerable. If it's OK with you, I'd like a President who has the country's best interests at heart and has the heart to fight for it.

But, we could go with more government, more hammock people and apeasers to the Left which is status quo, or something new. Choose wisely my friend.

My God, talk about a softball...you walked it right across my sights.

(You're of the generation that will understand without further prompting, so be prepared to wince.)

What about Mitch McConnell?

Hum a few bars, and I'll fake it.

("Sing along with Mitch.")

Full disclosure: never followed McConnell enough to know of his marital arrangements.

But I *did* get a call from the NRSC fundraising people last week, and told them they wouldn't get a penny from me due to Mitch selling us out on the debt ceiling, and all my money was going to Sarah.

You could *hear* in the caller's sigh that he's been getting that response a LOT.

Cheers!

She and Perry will split the conservative vote.

Perry isn't going to fold.

But Sarah Palin ought to know why if she is going to be able to cope with a brick bats that will come her way. She must know that she can never charm these people. The more she tries the more they will hate her. She must focus on her target, the conservative base which she will keep so long as she is faithful and the independent middle which is persuadable if she can appear to be a normal and a wholesome person.

She's already doing that...and more.

Here's a bit of inside baseball for you.

At the Iowa State Fair, Palin stood for over an hour answering reporters' questions earnestly and individually until they were dried up. Then she went for awhile longer. She then sent an aide to buy corn dogs for the press.

In the meantime Bachmann showed up late and flustered; and a reporter (Don Lemon from CNN) claims he was elbowed / shoved / whatever by one of Bachmann's entourage, might even have been her husband.

And Bachmann ended up being photographed in a compromising position while eating a corn dog:

Granted, if Palin did that, she'd win in a landslide due to the "fans of the hot librarian girl" vote. But that's beside the point.

Palin is exerting incredible charm and discipline, and it's paying off.

And one other thing in this regard.

I had the chance to attend part of the Right Online conference in Minneapolis recently (with Andrew Breitbart, and several others attending such as Michelle Malkin, Erick Erickson, and candidates including T-Paw, Bachmann, and Cain.

One of the branch-out sessions was a panel on how to start blogging hosted in part by Robert Stacy McCain (a href="http://www.theothermccain.com/">The Other McCain. He had started out as a conventional journalist, and pointed out that one of the best things you can do for the press, if you want a fair shake, is to make sure you don't waste their time (they want a story with a hook they can use, don't make them work for it); make sure they are fed (he recommended a separated food table for the press); and possibly, give them alcohol.

Sarah did two out of the three: and I think it is making a difference.

Cheers!

But to quote the enemy, Jack Kennedy-who today might well be an ally-"first you got to get elected."

Barack Abyss Obaama is the WEAKEST Dem contender since Jimmuh Dhimmi Carter: and if things continue on the present path, maybe since LBJ who declined even to run for re-election.

What better time to advance a true conservative?

If not Palin, who?

If not now, when?

I am surprised at this attitude of yours given your tagline: Palin is the living embodiment of it.

Cheers!

There are two secular forces working against us as conservatives. The first is demographics and in every election cycle the numbers against us get worse and worse. When Obama wakes up on election morning he will have 95% of African-American vote, 70 to 80% of the Jewish vote etc., etc. So when he wakes up on that morning he will have an assured tally in excess of 40% of the popular vote.

Conservatives sat out in 2008.

Liberals will sit this one out: moderates will bring their anti-Obama tar and feathers to the polling booth.

Here's where you're wrong: and it pains me to say this, since up until this thread I would *almost* have trusted your political acumen implicitly.

1) You are forgetting that, the secular force working against is is actually an opportunity, in that most of the younger generation has (like Obaama) never known anything but flimsy, sham, prosperity without work. You know, like no-doc loans for houses well beyond their means.

And guess what happens to a narcissist when his easy life gets taken away? He gets MAD. The more Obama postures that 'This is Bush's fault, it's the Tea Party's fault' the more people think: "Bullsh*t, I haven't had a JOB for one two THREE years, and I never had problems getting one before."

2) Obaama, despite the angst over him on FR and similar sites, has sold out the far left on Afghanistan, on rendition of terrorists, on gay marriage (mostly), on a whole host of issues. The hardcore left will not vote for Palin in any case: but if we act carefully, we can get *them* to stay home or even better to form their OWN third-party.

I fervently hope you are merely Eeyoring in order to inspire and hector conservatives and Palin fans to ever greater efforts as a bulwark against anticipated leftist dirty-tricks and election fraud.

But Wisconsin is teaching us: even in their stronghold, on their signature issue, the matter is not settled and they CAN be defeated. They really have run out of other peoples' money: and Atlas is shrugging, so that the attempt to get blood out of a stone is having to go after a smaller and smaller stone as companies downsize even more.

The attempt to blame "corporate jets" doesn't work when you fly your fatass wife and your kids to Martha's Vineyard, to India luxury hotels, and enjoy $100/plate meals as a matter of course.

Back Palin and we can consolidate and extend the gains of 2010, and roll back the left in the US to the early 1960s. Because she's raising up an army of loyal Americans, not of sycophantic followers and chanters of mindless slogans like Obaama has.

Bank on it.

Yikes. You just inspired a Palin-McCain vanity.

Now I won't get ANY sleep.

Cheers!

She hasn't quit.

That's why there's Conservatives4Palin and SarahPac.

And you know it too, or you wouldn't be infesting her threads.

(I don't see you showing up over and over talking about how Tim Pawlenty has quit.)

Cheers, you lovable East Coast troll.

They will be childish, absurd, low-brow and unfair but they will also be effective and, given the fact that Palin did quit, deadly.

Yes, but to your side--the liberals.

Cheers!

Factor Two: A Palin nomination will stir at the deepest roots of the Democrat Party. She is loathed by them, not because of her “values”, but because they think she is total absolute moron, AND they believe there are enough hillbillies to possibly vote her in, therefore destroying America. That brings out more Dem voters, hurting down-ticket votes in the Senate and House.

Go tell Cass Sunstein your trolling FAILED.

Obama *is* destroying America, starting at the pocketbook and the economy; and going on to undermine national defense (nuclear disarmament via the latest START treaty; gays in the military; no space-based weapons; not supporting our allies by sending the bust of Churchill back to the U.K.; untenable geopolitical positioning by backstabbing Israel and Arab Spring and letting Iran go nuclear and failing to stand by Taiwan); gutting our energy supplies (blocking drilling and sending the EPA to close down 20% of our coal-fired plants); and on and On and ON.

Go delude yourself somewhere else that people will withdraw from Palin: her signature issue is energy; she loves America; and she's honest.

And everyone knows that the economy was better under Bush.

Barack Abyss Obaama has had three years to fix it, and he has made it worse -- to the degree that his IVY LEAGUE advisors have all quit and run for the tall grass rather than waiting for the tar, feathers, pitchforks and torches.

Obaama, being a member of the preferred victims' class, thinks he can charge it all to his Race Card. But it is now vastly overdrawn and will be declined.

And all of these things SHOW.

Reagan ignored the intelligentsia and won in LANDSLIDES.

And Sarah is deliberately choosing to follow in his footsteps.

Cheers!
