Four Reasons Why Sarah Palin Will Win
Mark America.com ^ | 20 August 2011 | Mark America

Posted on 08/20/2011 11:45:34 PM PDT by Windflier

I’ve been approached several times today by doubters who advance arguments as to why Sarah Palin cannot win the nomination, or if she secures it, why she can’t defeat Barack Obama.

All of the theories I’ve had pitched in my direction today share a couple common faults, and it’s important to point them out here. The most common reason I’ve heard today is the belief that the Media will destroy her. That’s silly. Is there a single Republican, never mind conservative, who the media will not seek to destroy to defend their darling, Barack Obama?

Anybody who watched the media in action after McCain’s nomination in 2008 should by now be thoroughly disabused of that shoddy notion. The Lame-Stream Media has been trying for three years running to destroy Sarah Palin, and there is no chance, having failed thus far, that they will improve results on their limited success.

The problem is that if the media narrative about a person is based on lies, in the longer run, those lies lose effectiveness as people learn the truth from other sources, and worse yet, the lies come back to haunt their purveyors because once the audience, having originally believed them, in the second instance realizes they’ve been scammed, they will thereafter no longer be inclined to believe another pronouncement given voice by that source.

The second most common flaw in the arguments I’ve been hearing and reading today is the dubious assumption that she’s an intellectual lightweight. Truthfully, there couldn’t be a more ridiculous claim upon which to base one’s criticisms, and yet this is the default argument of those who wish to suggest that Sarah Palin isn’t qualified.

It’s the constant harangue of the elite media types, and it has been a failure repeatedly. They tried to paint a similar picture of Ronald Reagan, and in fact, every Republican in my memory.

It’s a claim that falls on deaf ears in most quarters, because in the final analysis, it’s simply not believable given all she has already accompished. Having covered what critics have said, let me move on to my own list of reasons in opposition to these notions.

I firmly believe that Sarah Palin will run, win the nomination, and ultimately the Presidency.

Sarah Palin is better known and better liked today than when they started their assault on her all those years ago.

Not sure about that. For example, her numbers in Alaska have gone south bigtime.

Basically I agree with what you say, but we still live in the reality of the media bias world.

And I thought the Elvis thing was particularly stupid.

I can only supposed she mentioned him at all because it was the anniversary of his death, I mean she wasn’t in any place particularly related to Elvis. I can only suppose it was determined she would say something and she mangled it.

She just seems to be racking up the unforced errors early.

And I think we’ve gotten better at ridiculing our opponents, and I’m sorry to say it, but we need to do it.

Troll #1 has checked in parrotting the left-wing press.

There are some non-troll individuals who actually believe that, confirming the old saw "tell a lie often enough and it becomes truth".

Perry is the other conservative in the race that will divide conservatives.

Perry is a former RAT, begging the question, was his conversion a real one, or is he still an undercover RAT?

Has there ever been an example of a politician so loathed by the media who has successfully turned around such wide-ranging negative perception?

Reagan was down by 32 points in the polls in Feb. 1980. Reagan won by 10 points.

And that was before the alternative media sources that we have today.

Two reasons why she won't....

1) She quit. spin it, massage it, tell people to go see the movie (as the Toddster did in Iowa), put all the lipstick on it you want...nothing will change the fact. It may have been a good decision from a personally financial perspective but it was fatal for any national political ambitions. America doesn't like quitters. All the magical thinking and idle wishing by her acolytes on Free republic will do nothing to stop the left and the media from hammering that home non-stop. The ads, posters, bumber-stickers, t-shirts and Tina Fey skits on SNL just write themselves.

2) Conservatives do not have the numbers to win alone. The next POTUS will need 68-72 million votes to win. Of these at least 10-15 million will have to be self-defined independents who voted for obama last time out. Palin(™) is the polar opposite of their last vote. They are not going to do a complete one-eighty in enough numbers for her to win.

What's sad, is they've been using that same ineffective ammo for two years already, and it hasn't stopped her advance one bit.

Stopped her advance? Advance to where? Celebrity? Because the last time I looked she has not run for anything or engaged in any activity at all where people would have to deal with her 'I quit' act.

I read your post and I appreciate your concern.

However, the time has come for us to stop living in fear of the traditional media and to stop formulating our opinion on who is electable based on the traditional media's bought and paid for polls.

Another George Bush, Bob Dole or John McCain is not an option. Candidates like that fear the media and they ultimately compromise with media. In my opinion Rick Perry is another such a candidate.

The time has come to nominate a candidate, who unlike Barack Obama, does stand for what the majority of the country wants.

At this point in time, I think that Palin might be that candidate.

The one big advantage to Palin is that the MSM has already thrown everything at her; and also that she doesn’t give a hoot what they say about her, so that is good.

It doesn't matter if she "gives a hoot" or not. All that matters is if seventy million or so American voters would pull the lever for her....70,000,000....that's not going to happen.

We know why Palin RESIGNED. A brilliant political move. If they had left her to finish her four year term she would not have been free to write her best seller, become financially secure and go to the lower 48 and wipeout the Democrat controlled House and cause Obama’s downfall. Poetic Justice.

70 million people will pull the lever for Obama after what Obama has put this country through.

I don't think so.

It is now 3 years since Tina Fey and Katie Couric took her apart on national television and she has not put herself back together for the mass of the country since.

Just wait for all the Tina Fey "I quit" skits to hit the airwaves.

They will be childish, absurd, low-brow and unfair but they will also be effective and, given the fact that Palin did quit, deadly.

Would ya stop it with the shrewd, reasoned analysis? That kind of thing gets in the way of coronation!

Here’s the two other factors. Independents who lean Democrat and Democrat-lite voters, ones that were burned by voting for celebrity and not substance in 2008, are looking for a reasonable alternative to Obama. Guess which celebrity they are never going to consider in 2012?

Factor Two: A Palin nomination will stir at the deepest roots of the Democrat Party. She is loathed by them, not because of her “values”, but because they think she is total absolute moron, AND they believe there are enough hillbillies to possibly vote her in, therefore destroying America. That brings out more Dem voters, hurting down-ticket votes in the Senate and House.

A Palin nomination is good news for Democrats.

1. Obama sucks
2. Obama’s policies suck
3. Economy sucks
4. Gas prices suck

My 4 reasons are short and to the point.

Voters weren't burned by Obama's "celebrity" status, whatever the heck that means. Voters were burned by Obama's Marxist beliefs.

The majority of voters believe more what Palin stands for than what Obama stands for. It will be up to Palin to communicate that in her campaign. I for one will not pick a candidate based on the fear that the truth cannot prevail. We've been settling for candidates based on that fear for too long. It hasn't turned out well.

The time is right to change all that.

Sarah Palin has something that no other candidate has..... my vote.

Now, if your vote were worth 70,000,000 regular votes she might actually have a chance. Is it?

It's amazing we have anti Palinites on this thread who just ignore all that.
