Sarah Palin Quietly Building 2012 Machine
Newser ^ | July 12, 2010 | Kevin Spak

SarahPAC, the esteemed hockey mom’s Political Action Committee, is shaping itself into the kind of sophisticated operation a presidential candidate might use, according to Politico. The PAC just had its best fundraising quarter ever, raking in $866,000. It turned around and spent $742,000 of that investing in its infrastructure, building its lists and fundraising capabilities, and launching its first direct mail campaign. Most of the money came from small donors.

Alleged 2012 hopefuls Tim Pawlenty, Haley Barbour, Mitt Romney, and Mike Huckabee all have PACs as well. But until now, Palin has eschewed traditional political expenditures, relying on Facebook, Twitter, speeches, and email. “We didn't have a big base of people coming out of the presidential campaign," says the group's treasurer. "All that stuff was property of the McCain campaign. But now, I think we’ve got a pretty formidable thing going on."

I'll raise $2 million for her once she declares. No Mitt Huckabees!

It’s kinda funny that a lot of the “experts” are shocked that she is capable of sophisticated planning and execution. Do they think her becoming governor of a state was a fluke? I hope everyone keeps underestimating her.

I hope everyone keeps underestimating her.

Indeed, a wise sentiment. Every sucker who writes about how she is "not ready" or "unqualified" serves to strengthen the sinews of the momma grizzly and weaken the resolve of the panty waists who oppose her.

"To be underestimated by your enemy is a rare advantage, one to be eagerly sought and carefully nurtured." (famous buzzard rules of warfare.)

A Palin presidency will be interesting. She is like a cross to a vampire, an exorcist to a demon. Liberals, and even some conservatives, will be spitting up hot pea soup and twisting their heads in circles if she becomes CIC. The irrationality and insanity that drives her opponents is something I have never seen before. Oh wait, I take that back, its the same irrationality and insanity that supported Obama only inverted.

She can build whatever machine she wants, but that GOP-hack-RINO isn’t gettig my vote.

I don’t care if Stalin is resurrected to run against her, she has no chance of getting my vote.

No RINO’s!

Someone who would call Sarah Palin a “RINO” is probably someone who would call anyone short of Ronald Reagan a “RINO,” as well.

Well, to me she’s the closest that we have to a reincarnation of Ronald Reagan and I will support her with everything I have at my disposal to do so.

Here’s what I see happening next year:

Hillary Clinton WILL decide to run against Obama in the Democratic primaries, a la Ted Kennedy in 1980 — she can’t afford to wait until 2016 when she will be almost 70 — and just like Kennedy, she will get her ass “whipped.”

So, Obama will be the candidate in 2012, but a weakened one. His campaign against Hillary will drain his financial resources and give the Republicans plenty of good sound bites from Hillary and her minions to use against him, (as if they need them at this point.)

So, whomever runs against Obama in 2012, unless it’s a RINO of the nth degree, will win. Palin knows that. Thus, she has no reason to wait until 2016. Besides, who else do the Republicans have?

Sarah in 2012 would be fun for so many reasons, not the least of which is that she would win. However, it would probably turn into one of the ugliest campaigns in history. But, Sarah has proven that she can take it and I’m sure she’ll have no problem dishing it out, as well.

In November, 2012, Sarah Palin will become the first woman elected as the next POTUS. We should be damned happy about that.

Wrong. They would call the real Reagan a RINO too.

It's still a free country, and you can vote or not for whom ever you choose.

However, Sarah is not a RINO, but you have proven that you are an idiot. Go ahead and help osamaobama get re-elected.

Until Americans can tell a real right-wing candidate from a GOP sellout, we have much bigger problems facing us than 0bama’s second term.

She’s already revealed her allegiances through her endorsements.

She can’t speak in public. She can’t interview. She’s an ice queen (cold, detached, inaccessible). She’s a phony.

Only a fool would trust her at this moment in our history.

The left will destroy her and whatever weak agenda her and the impotent GOP can muster.

To say the GOP is only impotent is giving them far too much credit, but for the sake of this discussion...

This is no time for half-measures.

Mark my words, you will be extremely disappointed if she wins.

She gives terrific speeches that entrance thousands.

She interviews well - she just needs to ensure no-one messes with the editing after the event.

She is the most accessible of politicians. Many FReepers have met her, and say it's just like meeting a friendly next door neighbor.

And her endorsements show her to be committed to no-name, Big-C conservatives: with the exceptions of Fiorina, who is an asshat but who is at least a front runner in the Bizarro world of CA politics, and McCain whom she owes a debt of honor to.

Not to mention that she is front and center of the Conservative movement in the US. The Democrats wince every time she posts on Facebook.

You are way off base. So far off in fact that it sounds like, all this time, you've been mixing up Palin with Nancy Pelosi.
