The hour is near
Time to face a New Year
A toast to good health, family, and FRiends dear
A wish for safety, prosperity, laughter, and love
And, many, many thanks! to those serving our Country
and, to the One above.
*******************************
OK, was that mushy? Was it cheesy? Yes! Heartfelt, too.....
And, speaking of "CHEESE" (after all....this is Free Republic : ))
You are cordially invited to the Canteen's
New Year's
: )
So guys and dollz it's time to boogie!
*******************************
HAPPY 2003!
Come on and party!
Please pick up your new CHEESY name tag for the ball HERE
(To "find" your new cheesy name, use the first letter of your first name for your first cheesy name. Use the first letter of your last name for the first part of your last cheesy name, or, your middle cheesy name, and, use the last letter of your last name for your cheesy last name. [Thanks LindaSOG. I tweaked the formula. : )]
For example: The name Hillary Clinton becomes Hereford Hop Curd Nokkelost.)
Hey, if that's too much, just pick a few cheese names and have fun! : )
*******************************
So, everyone LET'S CHEESE ROLL! LET'S CHEESE DIP! AND, LET'S HAVE A CHEESE BALL! : )

You've thrown a wonderful Ball for the troops, ~Abondance~. A New Year's Eve they'll remember, I'm sure. Thank you so much!
I had to giggle when I saw the Cheese Balls....I've got a bag of them (different brand) in front of me right now. LOL!! Good stuff!

Thanks, Kervella Affine Havarti Neufchatel, for bringing your cheese ball recipe to share with the troops and visitors.
To: Kathy in Alaska
Geez, you guys are still at it? Happy New Year!
To: Aeronaut
LOL! I was very late to the festivities, but a good time was had by all.
Tell me about your plane. It looks like the second the wheels leave the ground, it turns straight up! My stomach feels left behind. Might this be for short runways?
To: Kathy in Alaska
Tell me about your plane. It was designed to turn a lot of JP (jet fuel) into noise.
To: Aeronaut
It was designed to turn a lot of JP (jet fuel) into noise. To what end?
To: Kathy in Alaska
That was a joke....
To: Aeronaut
LOL! OK, but why so quickly UP?
To: HiJinx

Reflections of a MilemarkerThank you, Radical Poet, for sharing your poem. It makes for a fuzzy monitor.

OK, but why so quickly UP?OK, I'll try to be series. That is called a full performance takeoff. It is not required for normal operations. This photo was probably taken at an air show where the full capabilities are often shown off. The airplane has an incredible amount of power that is useful in combat operations; this just gives folks a taste.
To: Aeronaut
Well, I must say it is VERY impressive. I'll just watch, thank you. Otto might have quite a problem hanging on.

Hi
Liptauer Braudostur Swaledale, thanks for stopping in. Happy New Year.

I'm glad I saw this post about the Tournament of Roses Parade, Kathy. I haven't watched the parade in years (ok, so I'm not awake then, ok? giggle!) but I'll set the VCR for this one. The Total Force Band sounds awesome and is a must-see!
The B-2 and F-117 aircraft leading off the parade will be awesome. Nothing like fighter jets screaming overhead! (A favorite part of opening ceremonies at NASCAR races...been there, done that, and there's nothing like it!)
All in all, the folks who attend the parade will be in for a real treat.

It does sound exciting doesn't it. I think, but don't quote me on it, that I heard that HGTV was showing it without commercials. It comes on here at 7am and repeats at 4pm on HGTV.
