But don't you know that terrorists are building hideouts in coral reefs? They must be mapped.

If GWB can get Saddammnn to declare West Verginny off limits, will the Senate knock off, lets say, $6 or $7 billion from this porker?

`'Clearly the bill has gotten out of control,'' said Senate Minority Leader Trent Lott, R-Miss, but ``to just drag this out into next week would not be a positive thing.''
That about sums up Lott's tenure as Republican Senate leader, doesn't it?

VETO VETO VETOAs far as I know, Bush has already said he would veto it in its current form. Then the Senate made it worse. He'll flush it.
To: Steve0113
Mr. President! Tear down this... I mean... veto this bill!

It's not just the pork, one of the 'add-ons' is the required release of so-called family planning dollars to UNFPA. (Read: the exportation of abortions abroad using our tax dollars to kill of little dark-skinned children that Leftist children hate.)

Leftist children hate = that Leftists hate
To: Steve0113
Yep! I certainly hope he does it!

What does fighting AIDS in poor countries have to do with anti-terrorism?? This is pathetic.
Hope he vetos but I doubt he does. He issued the threat but since he hasn't issued a veto yet, the Senate is calling his bluff. We shall see. Has to go to conference first, I believe. The House bill is 29 billion, the Senate 31.5 billion. Bet they split the difference and settle on 30 billion and W will sign it.

Well if that is true, then I will go on record and say that I am sadly disappointed. But I do think he will veto it.

I hope you are right Rin but I'm basing my assessment on past practice. He could easily veto it and generate support for the veto by pointing out the obviously egregious pork barrel spending. If he vetos, I'll buy you a drink and I look forward to buying it!
BTW, I'm not trying to be cynical just realistic.
