Now That Bush Has Sold Us Out... What are we going to do about it? (vanity)

Posted on 03/13/2002 2:47:41 PM PST by Michael2001

Well I'm mad and I'm angry, and maybe that's why I can't think of an appropriate response. While all of us were prasing him for how he was dealing with the war on terror, Bush passes this Amnesty Bill, something that not even the sneaky Bill Clinton would do. This is one of the worse Bills to pass through Congress, it will hurt us in many ways, and ten years from now we will still be feeling it's effects.

Bush has, without a doubt in my mind, sold us out for the Hispanic vote. He sold us out because he can take our vote for granted (who will we vote for Al Gore?). Is he wrong? What do we do when the Republicans stop looking out for our interests? Is it time for a new party, or do we work within the party and try to root out the Republicans In Name Only (of which there are many)?

Get your fact straight. The President has not passed the Amnesty Bill. The Congress has and it needs to go through the Senate first before it is send to the President for him to sign it. If he signs it then you can cry. But right now you are jumping the gun prematurely

I saw him on H:C as well. He said that he wouldn't support amnesty. He lied. He did support amnesty.

I must admit tho, it isn't as bad as I thought, it's not "blanket" amnesty, it's only "blanket" amnesty if you have even the slightest ability to forge. So I guess plausable deniablity is still intact.

I read both h.r. 1885 and 245(i) and I still say that this is amnesty. 245(i) starts out with tough talk about must have this and that to qualify, but almost immediatly runs into the if they don't have that, this will do, or if thats not available and so on and on and.....

into the toilet?

When Republicans won't even INVESTIGATE the crimes the Clinton administration and DNC committed the last 9 years ... little things like murder, mass murder, treason, election tampering, bribery, blackmail ... what makes you think we aren't ALREADY in the toilet?

Furthermore, do you think a time won't come when the democRATS regain the Whitehouse? It will happen sooner than you like ... because of the lessons the Republicans are now teaching the democRATS. And when it does happen, how do you suppose democRATS will behave? The INACTION of the GOP in upholding the laws of this country ... in even INVESTIGATING the crimes the democRATS committed ... has taught the democRATS some important lessons.

They have learned that a President who controls the media (like they did AND DO) and the law enforcement arm of the Federal government (like Clinton did) can get away with literally ANYTHING. They have learned that Republicans cannot prevent them from committing crimes. They have learned that afterwords, IF there is an investigation, they can plead the 5th, lie or just pretend a memory lapse and the Republicans will essentially do NOTHING. They have learned that after they commit the crimes, and Republicans are back in power, Republicans STILL won't do anything ... even if they have mountains of evidence proving the crimes.

They have learned that they can steal elections and Republicans will do NOTHING. They learned they can openly tamper with the voting process and Republicans do NOTHING. They have learned that they can get campaign funds from illegal sources (even by selling US secrets to the enemy) and Republicans will do NOTHING. They have learned that even if discovered they can say they returned the illegal funds, not do so, get caught not doing so and STILL the Republicans will do NOTHING.

They have learned that they can ILLEGALLY examine government files for damaging information on their opponents, put that information ILLEGALLY into their own databases and publish the information in their controlled media ... and the Republicans will do NOTHING. Thanks to Emailgate, the democRATS have learned that they can both destroy the evidence of their wrong doing or simply disconnect the systems that are supposed to preserve a "paper trail" of government activities ... and the Republicans will do nothing.

They have learned that they can abuse the IRS, FBI and MILITARY, turning them into instruments for distracting the public from reports that might damage them or even use them to harass their enemies ... and the Republicans will do NOTHING. They have learned that they can intimidate, smear and lie about anyone who threatens them and the Republicans will do NOTHING.

They have even learned that they can KILL high level members of the government (like Foster and Brown) who threaten to expose their activities and Republicans will do NOTHING. They won't even investigate.

If the GOP ignores the crimes the democRATS committed, they leave people like me (life-long Republicans) wondering whether we really can trust Republicans to properly investigate crimes by Republicans ... or even whether they might not commit crimes just like the democRATS did to stay in power. After all, why should we trust Republicans, if they won't even investigate crimes as serious as MURDER ... BY DEMOCRATS? And why should we trust Republicans if they are willing pander to anyone, even illegal aliens, in order to garner some small advantage in the vote?

Are you sure we aren't already in the toilet?

I can understand your anger at my suggestion,as it does go against sound reason.As to your inference that I am a plant or a mole,they are rediculous.
As for my Republican credentials:First vote cast was for Goldwater in 64,last vote cast for Bush in 92. Bob Dole gave a farewell speech to the senate before the election of 96.In that speech he ticked off all the things he was most proud of, a lot of the things he was so proud of just happened to be the things that I think have caused the most harm to this nation.After the speech,I realized that the party I had supported for so long had abandoned the ideals that had attracted me to it.Since then,I have been independently happy.
I am the enemy.
If your idea of good and just government is is career politicians,forever in power,chauffeured in limousines,engorged with self-importance, swilling champagne as they contemplate their next big pension increase.If you admire the likes of Lott,Hastert,Dole,Jeffords,Specter,and the rest of the get along/go along boys,yes I am your enemy.
If you hold that bunch in low regrd and think you can change the party from within and defeat them thru the elective process,methinks that you are naive.

I am sure we are perched on the edge of the toilet and that we could very easily slip and/or be pushed in.

I am sure that President Bush, who puts on his pants one leg at a time and who has the same needs and wants and doubts and fears and weaknesses and courage and Human frailties and strengths as you and me; knows that too.

And also knows that the FBI information stolen during the past ten years or so by the vast criminal organizations, for which the Rotten-KKKli'toons, for a time, were permitted to FRont -- and which is still in the hands of those vast criminal organizations -- could absolutely destroy the Republican Party for years to come.

And, wily political animal that he is proving to be, will to the best of his ability, play those vast criminal organizations at their own game -- and even feed McAuliffe and the rest of the DNC's RICO-gangsters a little more rope -- as he positions himself and our party to take best advantage of every opportunity to move Our Beloved FRaternal Republic away FRom the toilet's edge and out of the bathroom!

Trust Our Nation's President.

Trust President Bush. [R]

[Most of whose domestic policies, by the way, on their face, piss me off pretty badly too!]

. Think about just how much fruits and vegatables would cost each and every one of us if illegals were not picking them...

Oh, donkey dust! Who are you calling ignorant?

Why not think about how big and bright, or shriveled and withered those same fruits and vegetable will be if some of these illegal aliens turn out to be terrorists with dirty nukes?

No one here is saying honest Mexican immigrants can't apply and enter this country legally. We simply want to deport ALL illegal aliens from ALL foreign countries and start over with proper investigative background checks.

Someone posted a bumper sticker that read "If I'd know how it was going to turn out, I'd have picked my own damned cotton." Well I'm ready to pick my own damned vegetables (or pay an increased price if necessary).

Hold on a minute. If that information is so damaging that it could destroy the Republican Party, then perhaps it SHOULD come to light. If it is worse than the MURDER, TREASON and ELECTION TAMPERING committed by the democRATS, then perhaps Republicans don't belong in control EITHER. Perhaps it is time to clean the CRIMINALS out of the Republican party too and give a third party a real chance.

as he positions himself and our party to take best advantage of every opportunity to move Our Beloved FRaternal Republic away FRom the toilet's edge and out of the bathroom!

But how can he do that if he soils himself with the same stink as the democRATS. You don't ignore MURDER and TREASON without becoming corrupt yourself ... without giving corrupt people leverage over you. You only make the problem worse.

Trust Our Nation's President. Trust President Bush.

Again I ask you, why should I trust someone who appears to be willfully ignoring SERIOUS crimes by their opponents? Or are they REALLY opponents? Afterall, if that information is as damaging as you suggest perhaps Bush is acting like a democRAT because he has no choice. It cuts both ways.

My initial reaction is to vote for a third party candidate and hope if he gets enough votes, and it causes the Republicans to lose the presidency it will send them a message.

Oh, right. I'm sure that electing Al Gore or Hillary Clinton or Tom Daschle the presidency will do loads to help conservatives...NOT!

So what should we do? Keep voting for people that do not share our interests? "Been said before but here it is again, a vote for either is a vote for the other".

Did you see Bush's news conference earlier today, when he clearly said that Israel was not being helpful by attacking terrorists ?

Yes, I did
I fear betrayal.

Perhaps it is time to clean the CRIMINALS out of the Republican party too and give a third party a real chance.

I believe that President Bush knows very well that the criminals [As often as not, by the way, "former 'DemocRATs'"] need rooting out FRom the Republican Party too.

And that the only way to do that is to:

[1] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[2] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[3] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[4] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[5] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[6] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[7] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[8] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[9] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[10] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[11] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[12] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[13] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[14] hold on to the House and to regain the Senate and;

[15] etceteras.

Or we can follow Canada's example and so split the Conservative Movement as to ensure the total and permenant domination of every aspect of American life by the vast criminal enterprises of which the Rotten-KKKli'toons were momentarily the frontspiece.

Which splitting and total and permenant domination, by the way, seems to be the driving delusional fantasy of the libertines who have captured and who now dominate and control the once well-motivated Libertarian Party.

Hah! Yes sirree! Agree with you a hundred percent. But I'm still not going to help re-elect Clinton/Gore. Sorreee.

At least when Clinton/Gore were in office, rank and file Republicans took a stand for liberty. Now they chear the Republican administration's domestic war on freedom (e.g. the so-called "patriot" act).

I think it's better when government has opposition. This unity thing has turned into a raw deal for freedom and the Constitution.

MY initial reaction is to trust NO politician blindly. I want to know exactly why this had to be done under cover of darkness.

He owes us an explanation of why he insisted on this, and ramrodded it through.

I agree. There have got to be enough like-minded people in this country to give some serious oposition. Just need to get the people infomed enough to be fed up with the current situation.

BTW, NC, I was wonderin' what your take on this immigration issue would be.

I think that is the reason why Bush got in as well. And as for the 2nd being for individual rights, that will be up to the SC. As it stands now, it doesn't. It's not that we don't have the right to carry and bear arms, we do. It's just not guaranteed by the 2nd. The Emerson case should be going up to the SC shortly, there is a good chance that the SC will declare the 2nd as an individual right. Make no doubt about it, the gun issue put Bush into the presidency.
