Now That Bush Has Sold Us Out... What are we going to do about it? (vanity)

Posted on 03/13/2002 2:47:41 PM PST by Michael2001

Well I'm mad and I'm angry, and maybe that's why I can't think of an appropriate response. While all of us were prasing him for how he was dealing with the war on terror, Bush passes this Amnesty Bill, something that not even the sneaky Bill Clinton would do. This is one of the worse Bills to pass through Congress, it will hurt us in many ways, and ten years from now we will still be feeling it's effects.

Bush has, without a doubt in my mind, sold us out for the Hispanic vote. He sold us out because he can take our vote for granted (who will we vote for Al Gore?). Is he wrong? What do we do when the Republicans stop looking out for our interests? Is it time for a new party, or do we work within the party and try to root out the Republicans In Name Only (of which there are many)?

My initial reaction is to vote for a third party candidate and hope if he gets enough votes, and it causes the Republicans to lose the presidency it will send them a message.

In the last election, many people at my Church refused to vote, saying that Bush would not look out for us. Not voting at all, doesn't help us much either.

Did you read 245i and the underlying law?

Because if you didn't the one issue line to throw Bush from the train starts way over there.

Probably not. But what will? The Republican Party is becoming indistinguishable from the Democratic Party. Do we keep just voting for the "R's" each time because that's what we've always done, and what our parents have always done? At what point do we stop supporting these people?

You can do that---"send a message" and curse us with 4 years of Algore---but you will be banned from complaining about ANYTHING he does. Can you deal with that?

Throwing out the race card doesn't work here. However, at Democratsunderground.com might be a better site to throw that out at.

Perhaps the sneaky Bill Clinton wouldn't do it, but Ronald Reagan did the exact same thing during his presidency.

My 'litmus test', when is come right down to election day and marking the ballot, is the '2nd Amendment'...

With that intact...everything else, shall I say, is 'negotiable'! :)

They didn't. They ammended the rule that was extracted from the procedure that was a revised version of an executive order given in a time of "National Emergency". See, simple, just make it too complicated for anyone to proove unconstitutional and viola, Law on the books regardless of silly constitutionality factors.

So what's the problem then? If you have no problem with Hispanics that where is the problem?
