OVER 100 ORGANIZATIONS ASKED TO DROP SUPPORT FOR AMERICAN RED CROSS

OVER 100 ORGANIZATIONS ASKED TO DROP SUPPORT FOR AMERICAN RED CROSS

The Catholic League is asking over 100 organizations to drop their support for the American Red Cross. Specifically, we are requesting the leaders of allied organizations to alert their members to the decision by the Red Cross Orange County Chapter in Santa Ana, California, to stop students from Orange County High School of the Arts from singing “God Bless America” and “America the Beautiful” at a Red Cross luncheon yesterday.

The national headquarters of the American Red Cross supports the censorship. In a news release on this subject, it exclaims “our sensitivity to religious diversity” noting its “preference for a music program that would be inclusive and not offend different populations participating in this particular event.”

Catholic League president William Donohue commented as follows:

“If this were just a chapter of the Red Cross acting this way, we would be disturbed but would not call for drastic action. But since the headquarters of the American Red Cross is supporting the ban on ‘God Bless America’ and ‘America the Beautiful,’ we are left with little alternative. Sadly, it has become all too common for the high priests of ‘religious diversity’ and ‘inclusiveness’ to resort to gag rules.

“The American Red Cross has every right to adopt the platform of political correctness by censoring the free speech of young men and women who want to honor God and country. And we have every right to ask our friends to send the Red Cross an unmistakable message by refusing to donate one more dime to the organization. Our request is being sent to our allies in virtually every faith community. The time to put an end to this anti-religious madness is now.”

I think their mistake is collecting funds in a majority Christian nation. Instead of a nation founded on Christian charity, they should stay out of America and find contributors in the nations of religions they do approve of and see how they do.

I fail to see how their "inclusion" policy that excludes Christians will win them much advantage in their bottom line, but they should go try, or go spit, I no longer care which.

And they should lose that cross on their emblem, they don't deserve to display it, it's misleading.

Pinging bump to send the Red Cross Monopoly money, because it doesn't say "In God We Trust" on it.

The Red Cross has come under increasing scrutiny during the last six months.  When it was discovered that they were not going to spend all the
donations related to 09/11 on victims of that event, reaction from the public and government influenced them to change their mind.

Last night CBS Sixty-Minutes made a presentation that sought to claim this wasn't the first time the Red Cross had tried to use donated funds on unrelated activities.  Those who listen to this real audio file will hear a report that sounds a lot like the events surrounding the 09/11 fund.

Click on the link for the audio from last nights Sixty-Minutes' Report.  LINK

There's a little background noise on this.  Sorry about that.

I saw the 60 minutes piece on the Red Cross last night. (Sunday 3/10).

A classic, 60 minutes full-scale attack.
Withering, scathing, no-holds-barred report that showed the Southern California Chapter of the American Red Cross had solicited funds using the photophaphs and names of local disaster victims... with NO intention What-So-Ever of letting any of those victims have One Dime of the funds.

The local chapter president gets $300,000 per year.
$100,000 of which is BONUS for operating in the black.
That means Not Spending or disbursing solicited funds.

Red Cross basically did not respond.

RE: Your experience, It's sad to hear one of our finest had to go through that, but fortunately it turned out alright for you and your family. I guess there might be more out there that have their tales to tell RE: the RC. Thanks for your input.

America was attacked by suicide bombers on September 11th. Since then, the American Red Cross has been trying to commit suicide, and succeeding admirably.

She said the group they liked the most was the SALVATION ARMY. I never forgot that.

My Father said the same and I always contribute to them. Thanks for your input. I wished I had asked more back then when I heard how much the RC was not liked by the service men but I was just a kid and didn't pay THAT much attention to ask questions as to why.

Here is the address again for donations by mail:

American Red Cross
P.O. Box 37243
Washington, DC 20013

Most dept stores sell the "money only" right beside the complete game in the toy section, plus Timesink posted a link to order it on an earlier post. Have at it!

during WW2 in the Pacific was that enlisted folks were allowed to buy coffee and doughnuts while officers were given free food and entertainment.

My father too was in the Pacific, and somehow your story sounds somewhat familiar. Sad isn't it. Well, I have heard many good stories about the Salvation Army and that is who I always contribute to. I have always had my doubts about the RC. Thanks for your input and God Bless all you service guys out there.

How Long Does It Take To Know the American Red Cross? More than 60 Minutes

On Sunday, March 10, the CBS News show 60 Minutes ran a misleading and inaccurate story about the American Red Cross. Below is the real story of the Red Cross, as well as specific examples of inaccuracies in the 60 Minutes story.
