OVER 100 ORGANIZATIONS ASKED TO DROP SUPPORT FOR AMERICAN RED CROSS

The Catholic League is asking over 100 organizations to drop their support for the American Red Cross. Specifically, we are requesting the leaders of allied organizations to alert their members to the decision by the Red Cross Orange County Chapter in Santa Ana, California, to stop students from Orange County High School of the Arts from singing “God Bless America” and “America the Beautiful” at a Red Cross luncheon yesterday.

The national headquarters of the American Red Cross supports the censorship. In a news release on this subject, it exclaims “our sensitivity to religious diversity” noting its “preference for a music program that would be inclusive and not offend different populations participating in this particular event.”

Catholic League president William Donohue commented as follows:

“If this were just a chapter of the Red Cross acting this way, we would be disturbed but would not call for drastic action. But since the headquarters of the American Red Cross is supporting the ban on ‘God Bless America’ and ‘America the Beautiful,’ we are left with little alternative. Sadly, it has become all too common for the high priests of ‘religious diversity’ and ‘inclusiveness’ to resort to gag rules.

“The American Red Cross has every right to adopt the platform of political correctness by censoring the free speech of young men and women who want to honor God and country. And we have every right to ask our friends to send the Red Cross an unmistakable message by refusing to donate one more dime to the organization. Our request is being sent to our allies in virtually every faith community. The time to put an end to this anti-religious madness is now.”

Hmmmmm.....my money has ""In God We Trust", evidently money is no longer acceptable to the Red Cross either.

Exactly .. seems to me I need to find another organization the appreciates the words "In God We Trust"

I pass by the Red Cross on the way home, and see their signs begging for donations. I keep right on going - we also have the Southeastern Community Blood Centers.

As a layman. . . it is my understanding that most hospitals--such as especially for elective or pending surgery--will store your own blood, frozen if necessary, for possible future use.

There are also a lot of private organizations that pay you for your blood.

Rather than enhance the commie/red cross, get paid for your blood and make a donation to a respectable charity OR FREEREPUBLIC.

Oh, they don't care about offending solid, foundational, patriotic etc. Americans. They just don't want to offend the commie world gov so called Americans.

I am going to send them Monopoly money, along with a note telling them that I would have sent real money, but didn't because I wouldn't want to offend them with the "In God We Trust" message on the bills.

Unlike emails and phone calls, which they could choose to ignore; they would have to spend time and resources opening these protest letters, lots and LOTS of letters with Monopoly money inside. Thinking there are donations inside, they MUST open them all for fear of throwing away a REAL donation.

I don't know why, but MANY vets of WW11 ( my father, a Marine, included) had nothing good to say about the Red Cross and would never give them a dime. How about any of you older vets out there, do you have any input as to why ? I never knew why, but many had bad experiences with the RC.

here in Minnesota we have an organization called "The memorial bloodbank". They do "mobile" blood drives and I don't think they are affiliated with the Red Double-Cross.

I'm sure you could look up in the yellow pages or call a local hospital and ask for donation alternatives.
