"I told the Congress that I want to make sure that the Mexican citizen here is well-respected," Bush said. "And one way to do that is to pass 245I, which will allow for families to be reunited."

My nonsequitor detector just burned out.

"If Americans are having problems finding jobs, how are we going to support this massive influx of basically uneducated people? I know - don't get me started on welfare, Medicare, section 8 housing, and the like."

I guess the rest of us will just have to work harder to make more money to support them, of course.

Yeah right. You better go out and get a second job because in my next lifetime I am coming back as an illegal alien so I can reap the true benefits of America.

Bush said. "My attitude toward Mexico is that I want Mexico to succeed

Yes....and? I'm trying to figure out how this amnesty bill helps them succeed.

Question, what is a PBT?

I'm bumping everything you said, except I'll still vote for Bush (there is a big "unless" in there). He better behave! Here are two White House phone numbers if anyone feels like calling today: 202-456-1414 or 202-456-5594

How much harder? We are already busting our butts just to "get buy" from pay check to pay check. I really hate the government some days.

Sigh.....most days I guess actually. I know we need them for a small handful of things, but the rest of it, I wish they would just stay the heck away from me and my family and STOP making messes. That's the thing with politicians. They mess things up, so they will have to go back and fix it later, therefore they are always "needed".

Here's an idea W, why don't you make sure that the rights of legal American citizens are respected first before you go giving away the store to the illegals?

If these people are legalized the first thing they'll demand is minimum wage and the second thing they'll demand is unemployment benefits when they're layed off because the employer can't afford them at minimum wage.

This is far more serious than most people understand. An excerpt of an urgent notice I got last night:

Word is that Bush is to the point of being obsessed over this, and he will definitely force 245(i) through the House and Senate within the next two weeks. I mean … voices (representing Bush) are being raised on Capitol Hill, fists are pounding -- I kid you not. For some reason, Bush feels he absolutely HAS to have this.

And:

One reason may be that he apparently believes that Mexico may be on the verge of collapse. He may be planning to offer 245(i) as a kind of “safety valve” to Fox for illegal aliens from Mexico

Bush wants to be able to present this to Fox on March 22nd. The gloves are all off now, and you have to recognize that this guy is totally against the original people of the US.

At this point in history, with California and Texas headed for ethnic Mexican majorities, I would say that the U.S. is over with. All we can do now is try to stop this guy from turning the rest of our country into the nightmare that is Mexico. Please call as many Senators and Congressmen that you can. And the President's line. He just got handed his head over Richard Riordan. I was hoping that would be a wake up call to him to reverse course. But he appears to be hardheaded.

If he gets the 245(i) exemption, he will have gotten something that was explicitly closed in 1996 by the Republican congress, and successfully defeated again last year by a firestorm of conservative opposition. Watching Judd Gregg argue against Dashcle on this was incredible. If Bush gets his way, it will be against the interests of every Republican Senator, and most Congressmen. Please call.

We are not Mexico. We are not Mexicans. We are Americans.

I could go for an amnisty bill that would allow them 7 days to get out of the country before they are incarcerated for a minimum of one year and then deported.

The Mexicans may interpret his awful Spanish to say, “All my United State are belong to you!”

There is no may about it, they believe it and in many instances certainly act like it.

Gosh, It really IS all about getting re-elected, isn't it ? But, he may have lost more re-election votes from conservative Republicans than he can hope to get from grateful mexicans

Thanks for the ping Regulator. This doesn’t surprise me at all. Bush II is even more of a Horse’s A$$ than Bush I. He knows exactly what he is doing and his intentions of merging the U.S. with the 3rd world hellhole that is Mexico couldn’t be clearer.

This Amnesty and his refusal to protect our borders or enforce federal immigration laws is a major breach of his sworn oath of office to protect citizens from all threats foreign and domestic.

I believe it’s time to start thinking about impeaching Bush. Another 3 years of this guy at the helm and it may be too late to hold this country together.

We are not Mexico. We are not Mexicans. We are Americans.

What is wrong with Bush? Doesn't he understand what the implications are of granting amnesty to millions of people who broke into the country? I suppose he does, but forgets this is America, he was elected to represent Americans, not Mexicans or anyone else.

The strange thing is whenever these politicians want something to pass in Congress, they'll go on tv and talk about how the polls say they're in favor of such and such. But even though polls here say the public overwhelmingly is against this, they ignore them.
