Daschle vows unity behind BushGo ahead and pick up the soap. Trust me...

An aide to Mr. Daschle said his office received an increased volume of phone calls after his criticisms last week but did not know whether the callers supported or opposed his stance. Five will get you ten that the phone calls were negative in nature. Why else would he change his tune?

He didn't swallow crow feathers. Only hid them in his mouth and then spit them out...."on ocassion"(what is that BS) support"..." He said it. Only "on ocassion" (this one be the death of American soldiers) will he support Bush and the War on Terrorism. Kind of him to warn us.

Licking his wounds, I believe.

What's a pore ole demonrat to do........they tried the Bush recession, the Bush deficit (which is non existent), the secret government that isn't secret, and then they criticize the War cause Bush can't predict the future.......Enron turned in Global Crossing......
Wonder where the dems will go next?

"I don't want to complicate those plans any more by going on and on about who was notified when," Mr. Daschle said. "I don't believe that there was adequate notification [on government contingency plans]. Having said that, we will move on." The words of a small man, one who has to get in the last word, especially in moments of emasculating defeat.

To the aide; why do you not know if they were for or against They had a printout of the calls, but Tommy mistook it for a phone book and put it behind a lectern to stand on.

They are testing every angle to see if they can find an opening. Guess they found no angle. Everytime they try, it backfires. They've lost the Wizard of Is; now all they have are inept characters like the "Noid" from the old Domino's commercials.

He's gotta have the nuts to get them kicked. I picture him as nutless.
To: kattracks
Too late for that, Tom.

Daschle's real problem is that he can't keep vows and pledges he has already made.
20 September 2001
"Tonight, the president asked for our unity. He asked for our support. He asked for our patience," Daschle said. "We want President Bush to know -- we want the world to know -- that he can depend on us." Daschle pledged that Congress "will take up the president's initiatives with speed.
Daschle and Gephardt also made a vow to cooperate (around the time that Bush took office).

A leopard doesnt change its spot.Politics is more about self, polls and power than about the good of the country. The Democrat Party in this country is so self centered and ruthless I summize it cant be trusted. They are all about self interest, power and they are corrupt. I am sure there are exceptions but in the end when one is attacked or shown guilty they stand arm in arm if they can evenly split public opinion.Remember the scene in DC with them holding hands and marching in lockstep with Clinton.Simply because public opinion was about even but the publics opinion on Condit was so much different they eased him out. Remember if Condit is not responsible for Chandras disappearence he did no more than Clinton and if the truth be known didnt do as much.Think about it.

Hey river rat & all FReepers! Speaking of Daschle's power-- do ya realize the line of presidential succession goes like THIS? Cheney, then Hastert, then ROBERT C.BYRD! Horrifying?
To: kattracks
"I think that on occasion on every nationally broadcast TV program it is important for us to speak with one voice venomous partisanship in support of our troop efforts votes to cut military funding, and we're looking for an opportunity to do that," said Mr. Daschle, South Dakota Democrat.

Also, the economic impact and thirdly, back in South Dakota, will people give up their trucks and SUVs?"
