Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, who last week criticized President Bush for the direction of the war in Afghanistan, is now praising the president's leadership.
In a resolution, Mr. Daschle declares that the Senate "stands united with the president in the ongoing effort to destroy al Qaeda." He also offers condolences to the families of U.S. troops killed in action.

I think this this is the funniest line in the article. "Yeah, all kinds of folks were calling us, but we have NO IDEA WHAT they were saying!" Talk about a political tin ear.....
This is not the first time I have heard this. I kept thinking, am I crazy? I thought I heard Bush say VERY clearly it would take a lot of sacrifice and a long time. So I tried an experiment. Last time I heard the Demos say this, I went into a liberal doctor's office and repeated this statement to the most liberal people there. (You know, the one's that go around with the old Clinton bumperstickers still on their car?) In both cases I was corrected, that they heard the war would be long and hard. So I guess Bush did make it clear, and the Demos are just pulling their if you repeat a lie long enough maybe it will sound like the truth routine.
Enough that you would help me if I ran against him in 2004?
;-)
If I had a son over in harm's way, this jackass would be seeing me personally. We need no Jane Fondas in this war, not even midget troll Fondas.
Here is an exclusive picture of little Mullah Shorty Da$$hole eating crow this morning for breakfast. His wife had left the room to get new Pampers for him. We, then, took this shot of the evil little Troll:
Please contribute to Free Republic so that we have this vile little troll eating crow every morning in his high chair!
They are testing every angle to see if they can find an opening. Guess they found no angle. Everytime they try, it backfires. I am sure that the hard left wing of Dems is pressing their leadership hard to take more confrontational stance against Pubbies. The leadership tried and it did not work. I am happy to see all those militant liberals get depressed now. I am sure they are commiserating with al-Qaeda.
The only way to change the tone in Washington is to beat down the Democrats into submission. Then the tone will change.

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!
Now if that isn't an obvious democrat lying! Of course they know by what degree the calls were protests, because they keep track.
There is NO other reason, to explain why he backed off the issue.
Hopefully the SD voters are keeping track, too. He has been consistently casting about, for any issue to discredit Bush--it is in the daily talking points. Can you say "No traction?"
In a tank he'd look funnier even than Dukakis.
You are far too kind. Daschle reacted to the polls all right, but it was the leftist programming in his feeble, misfiring synapses that caused the reaction. He is unfamiliar with discretion and as far as "valor" goes, well, his putrid name should never be used in the same sentence as that word.
No Leap Years under Bush. There were two during the Clinton Administration.
Hooked on Phonics eradicated during the 90s. Now, it appears to be back and doing the bidding of the extreme right.
No football team from South Dakota has ever won the Superbowl. Is this connected to the Enron Scandal?
Somebody stole my little foot stool -- dirty White House politics.
I found this thingee in my iced tea. Whats up with that?
I've been sending VERY polite e-mails to the WH, to Vice President Cheney and President Bush regarding Daschle. Since Vice President Cheney is a WY guy and President Bush is a Texan, maybe they liked the idea I proposed that either one, or both of them, "take Senator Daschle 'out behind the woodshed and teach him some religion'."
PS, as I write, --- choppers still doing fly-bys around Indian Point nuke plant. They fly over my house.
