80,000 Freepers and Growing - Freepathon
3-1-02 | Topaz

Posted on 03/01/2002 4:59:36 AM PST by Topaz

When Jim Robinson started Free Republic in September, 1996 to expose the corruption in government and particularly the Clinton Whitehouse, he was alone. Now six years later, Free Republic has 80,000 registered members and who knows how many visit this site often, just to keep up on the latest conservative thinking.

Folks, you all know where this is going, Free Republic is a user supported website and it is time to support it. Four times a year we have this freepathon to donate a few dollars to pay for the bandwidth and expenses necessary to keep Free Republic online, and we do so with gratitude and cheer because of what is offered and accomplished by the existence of Free Republic.

Free Republic does not charge a membership fee or get supported by a government grant. No, people from across the World make donations large and small because they see the value of Free Republic. So if you're one that appreciates this site and want to see it continue, please send in a few dollars to help keep it alive.

....oh, don't worry, I will never give up or stop fighting. I am a very strong person. My concern is that my fellow Freepers undetstand there are many here in California who want the same thing I do.

....a place to educate our children with morales , respect and freedom of choice. In that order.......without the outside liberal influence!

I haven't had a chance to post on this thread since last night .... it has taken me about 2 hours to catch up ... *pant! pant!*

The best I can figure out on the memorials ....

for 1John - $150
for Barbara Olson (BKO) - $25
for Caseyjay - $200
for Chief Negotiator - $150
for 1John and Chief Negotiator $30

And I would like to repeat my earlier challenge .....

In memory of 1John

who loved God, country, and his family fervently

and had such fun with these FReepathons and his fishing contests

I would like to donate $25.00

and

challenge others to make donations in his memory also.

You need to speak with JustanotherJoe - he spent the weekend at my house - he will attest to my claims.

While large donations are great, often it is the small ones that are sacrificial and inspiring.

Every penny that is donated is greatly appreciated and helps to pay the bills.

Those who are not in a position right now to donate can still make an important contribution by bumping this thread or pinging others to it.

The daily meds is why she is in a senior home. I saw this problem about 3 years ago and no one wanted to listen to me. The first real problems they recognized dealt with her inability to handle math, numbers, dates, times and of course taking medicine properly falls into this category!

A few months ago, she was having a lot of problems and my wife's youngest brother dropped over for coffee one Sunday morning. She finished her breakfast and took her pills from the dispenser my wife had bought and was loaded each week by this son's wife (both women are RN's). Ten minutes later she came back to take her meds agains and argued with her son that she hadn't taken the meds. When you are in your mid 80's ODing on your meds is not good. Later the bottom dropped out and they found a place for her to stay.

Sometimes when my wife calls, from a one way listener side, the calls sound fairly normal. Then on other days, my wife has to repeat everything 10 to 12 times (there is no hearing problem)

Her family is behind her and the in laws like me are backing the immediate family for as long as it takes!

You are great! You remind me of my daughter in law and one of my wife's nieces. You and they will wade into areas where mere men and most women won't dare even step into.

You just hang in and shame people with humor into doing what they should have done a long time ago.

I have a feeling that my grand daughter who is not 3 yet will have the same charm, skill, bravery, tenacity or what ever label applies to get what should be done, done by those who don't want to do what should be done. Her mother was a cheerleader, and even before she is 3, she does a lot or routines and Jazsercise routines (her mother is a Jazzercise instructor).

Great work, and I will hit DC tomorrow with my $5/month essay.

You might want to try this picture:

BWAHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

You've seen some of the attempts and you know none of them have worked.

To me being flamed means I've caught someone and they have no way of defending themself. Since I've been aware of the "abuse" button, I've used it one - to ask that a triple post of mine be removed. I am unaware of anyone asking that any posts of mine be removed. I try my best to abide by the rules - I enjoy being here too much!!!

If your first year with your daughter was like the first year for my son and daughter in law with our grand son, you deserve hugs and rewards.

My wife and I have had this paradoxical relationship with him and particuliarly me when I have baby sat with him. I seldom had problems with him until his mother came home or back to our house. Then, he would start to cry, wanting her to hold him. Now she comes home and he just smiles at her and continues to play with PaPa. She has both the look of relief and puzzlement with this new behavior.

Our second son was like that until his first year. We joked that if he had been the first, he would been an only child. About the time he turned 1, it was like a light switch was turned on and the monster switch was turned off. He became nice to Dad (me) and treated us like equal parents.

It is time for an old grampa to go to bed. Two nights of low sleep time are catching up.

I will go load my 357 magnum. Please save this dog. I'm tired of begging for money to keep Free Republic going:

Your girls are lucky. Both of my husband's parent are gone and my parents have chosen to ignore their grand-daughter- so she has no grandparents. I'm fortunate in my friends, some of whom coould be my own grandparents, they consider my daughter as one of their own.
