The daily meds is why she is in a senior home. I saw this problem about 3 years ago and no one wanted to listen to me. The first real problems they recognized dealt with her inability to handle math, numbers, dates, times and of course taking medicine properly falls into this category!

A few months ago, she was having a lot of problems and my wife's youngest brother dropped over for coffee one Sunday morning. She finished her breakfast and took her pills from the dispenser my wife had bought and was loaded each week by this son's wife (both women are RN's). Ten minutes later she came back to take her meds agains and argued with her son that she hadn't taken the meds. When you are in your mid 80's ODing on your meds is not good. Later the bottom dropped out and they found a place for her to stay.

Sometimes when my wife calls, from a one way listener side, the calls sound fairly normal. Then on other days, my wife has to repeat everything 10 to 12 times (there is no hearing problem)

Her family is behind her and the in laws like me are backing the immediate family for as long as it takes!

Sounds exactly like what happened with us - except she said ENOUGH at 68.

We lost her less than a month after we got married, she never even knew.
