I have just initiated a petition for the president to veto Shays-Meehan / McCain - Feingold.

It is immaterial whether members of the legislative branch believe a proposed or enacted statute falls within or outside the boundries of constitutional permissibility.
Really? Immaterial to you, maybe, not immaterial to me. And I will vote accordingly. And I have told my representative and two senators that I will vote accordingly.
I care very much what they think of the constitution. I do not even think it is "only for the courts". I do not think it is "only for the government". It is for all of us, you, me, every single American, to care whether a proposed piece of legislation violates our constitutional rights or not. How can you think otherwise? You're willing to put the entire fate of our constitution and the nearly 300 million people who live under it in the exclusive hands of 9 individuals. I feel sorry for you, if that's your theory of civics and citizen responsibility in a democracy. If that's your theory of democracy-in-action. Where did you go to school? Where did you get such ideas?
You are clueless, each and every one of us who was in the military and those who reach elective office swear to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. It is the Presidents duty to protect the Constitution and the country from enemies foreign AND domestic and make no mistake, this is an attack on the Constitution.
But I do disagree with one thing You said. You said once we lose a Right we will never get it back again.
These bastards haven't had to pay for their treason, YET! We can get our God given Rights back ONE VOTE at a time so to speak.
These balless reps just don't respect us yet.
Bump!
