Without the Christian Coalition and other Christian Fundamentalist groups in the Republican Party, the Party would become a ship without a rudder or DemoRats. Without Christians such as myself and millions of others, this Party and this nation would not have a moral conscience and would follow the ways of Political Correctness. There would not be a biblical basis for what is right and wrong and nobody to stand up and put the light of truth on the evil of immoral or unethical behavior. The Rats are a Party without God and are run 100% by those who are either atheist or believe in many gods. There is no biblical right or wrong in that party and in many instances will argue against the word to paint the Republicans and Christians as intolerant. When Christians stand up against abortion we can find out how intolerant the SewerRats are, They usually make political points with that paintbrush, but if you look at it in hindsight; there are some political prices to be paid for that casual look at the world. They have allowed themselves to drift so far into dysfunction over the past 9 years that they have no way to get back to the center where most people live and after 911 where God and family.

If a party is run by the whatever god is fashionable then there is no moral lamppost to guide that Party and will follow whoever or whatever is popular. The DemonicRat party has been sold to the Devil and for 8 years defended ever type of unethical or immoral behavior it’s leadership desired. They could always fall back on moral relativism and make any means or activity justify every end as long as they held onto power. We Christians watched the Rats defend payoffs from China in exchange for open access to our nuclear weapons secrets. We watched the White House pawned off to the highest bidder, whether they be spies, drug dealers, terrorists or whoever. If you had the cash you got entrance and no telling how many political and military favors were sold. We watched a President of the United States pawing and having sex with his underlings as the feminists screeched about consensual sex by the most powerful man in the world was ok. We watched woman after woman thrown down elevator shafts when they dared to speak up against getting fondled in the WH? Situational ethics are ok for feminags if he vetos the late term abortion bills.

We could go on and on about Elian and other miscarriages of justice or the harassment of Christian/Conservative groups by the IRS, but the point has been made. A Party who ignores it’s moral base is a Party at risk. The Republican Party should thank God that it has a group like the Christian Coalition who will and did stand up and take the bullets when we see the country going the wrong direction. We stood for the Party in South Carolina by defeating McCain and his Godless agenda and then took the wrath of PravdABC for that stand. We voted and worked in mass for GW Bush because we saw a man who was following God’s path in his life. We saw a man who was born again and was in the race because God called him. We knew that this man was to become one of the great Presidents of our time. You do not have to be accepted and fail Oxford or walk the ivory towers to be a great President and many would argue that intelligence is not the greatest asset to great leaders. Churchill was not a great thinker although a great drinker, however he inspired a world to stop an unstoppable foe. No, a truly great President must have the country’s welfare in front of his own. He must ignore the polls that measure his popularity and take unpopular stands to let the world know that he stands for something and this President has taken many unpopular stands, starting with tax cuts. A President who will not take a stand for anything is a clinton.

The Christian Coalition and other Conservative groups are now under attack from Emperor Dashole! While the country is under attack from real terrorists, the Emperor and his congress has decided the most important piece of legislation is not energy or defense but Campaign Finance Reform?? The President should veto this bill for no other reason than it is wasting the congress’ valuable time. Out of an energy company going banko from the worst energy crisis since 1974 we do not have time to discuss meaningful energy independence, but have to pass Campaign Finance. Only the SewerRats would come up with logic like that. Politics over the country every time! We need leadership now! It is time to take Do Nothing Dashole out to the woodshed along with the traitors in our own Party and tell them to quit putting Party and Politics in front of the country and get to work on the real issues. Any wimp can pass something as small as CF but it takes a real man to pass energy reform or cut spending. It is time for Texas Justice and teach those SewerRats why Texans always wear their boots. Why pass laws if the Rats can’t obey the ones we have on the books already? Do they need more laws, ethics and morals to break?

Pray for GW and the Truth

Dude, you've been posting this all over FR. None of us know the context that quote was taken. Find a full, unedited transcript of that exchange and start your own thread. Take your propaganda somewhere else.

The bottom line is that money does not corrupt politicians. Politicians corrupt themselves. Just like guns don't kill people, people kill people. This bill is awful and an infringement on a very important constitutional right. We cannot let congress begin to attempt this type of attack on our rights. If they get away with passing this, I don't want to see what they try next time. Nip it in the bud, NOW. VETO.

What evidence do you have that Bush will veto this? He hasn't said he will. He hasn't supported the fight in Congress against it. News reports continue to abound that high white house staffers say he will sign it. Even the Bush shills on Free Republic are filling the air with garbage about why it is smart for Bush to sign this bill.

Go ahead, cheer me up. Give me some solid info pointing to a Bush veto.

Bush needs to veto this bill, nothing EVER gets fixed down the road. I pray that he won't cave in like he did with that Kennedy version of the education bill he passed.

Glad to hear you have family members to help our cause. My family members think I'm silly for even keeping abreast of beltway dealings. And, then they are horrified when they learn of some new law that is changing their lives. Gives new meaning to "what you don't know won't hurt you."

Is there more to the article than what is posted? I've read all that is posted and there is nothing at the end of the article saying more is at the website.
I would have automatically gone to the site for the rest of the article if it were mentioned, as is my habit. Since nothing is said, I've read it all, as far as I know.

Even if I knew nothing about this bill....I know to be suspect of it strictly because of who is supporting it predominately. I love our President and I don't think he's terribly poll conscious but I fear he will not veto this bill. I hope I'm pleasantly suprised.

Excellent!

There are two reasons I cannot stand McCain.

1. CFR - I believe this, for McCain, is about revenge more than anything--another matter.

2. His hatred of the religious right. When he bashed Falwell and Robertson, two imperfect people who courageously represent my political beliefs (and religious beliefs except for Robertson's faith healing stuff) he really scared me. From the reaction of my beloved fellow conservatives, he scared them too. That's why they went to the primary polls in droves until he was defeated.

These two issues, for McCain, are not seperate, in my opinion. He is angry over the Keating thing, that gave rise to CFR. However, I bet a history check would prove he's felt slighted by the religious right in a campaign too. He wants revenge. He definitely feels slighted by them in the presidential primaries. He wants to outlaw the speech they used to defeat him.

Ego and Power are a lethal combination.

Just find Rush insufferable lately.

I said the above to conclude that if Bush signs CFR my vote for him would have been 50% foolish and wasted. I would have appreciated knowing the truth back in the primaries when I could have done something about it. Next primary, I won't have a voice, nor will the people who can help me find out the truth.

I disagree completely with your strategy (or more properly lack of strategy). We should never let free speech be controlled in any way. I can't believe the Bush shills keep trying to tell us Bad is Good, Wrong is Right, and Losing is Winning.

RUSH TO DUB: IT'S GUT CHECK TIME
( Stand up for free speech. Veto this bill Mr. President)

Excerpt:

Mr. President, remember the brilliant address you made to the nation explaining our course of action in fighting world terrorism? I say the same kind of approach is called for with this deceptively named campaign finance reform bill. You enjoy an amazing level of trust with the American people. They trust you. They believe in your honesty and integrity. You could explain to them just why this bill is unconstitutional, and why it ought not ever see the light of day. The First Amendment has just been amended here in wanton violation of the Constitution. . . . . . . .

To me, this is gut-check time, Mr. President. One of the major reasons you were supported over McCain back in the primary season in the year 2000 was your stand against this very bill. Stand up for free speech. Veto this bill.

Short article makes a good point. Thanks, Rush!
Thanks for the post, TLBSHOW!

My father, sister and brother are all die hard Republicans. I am very lucky to be part of an old fashioned conservative American family with Cuban roots. It is great to be supported by ones family.

As a matter of fact, my whole family spent many a day with signs on the streets of Miami during the election aftermath here in Florida. It was great.
