Well, let me suggest that this assault on the Bill of Rights requires no less resolve and courage by the president to prevent a severe blow to our liberty. bump!

I emailed our President this AM. I asked him to use his veto pen on this bill. Can't believe the House got on such a media driven agenda. Scary.

. . . this is gut-check time, Mr. President. One of the major reasons you were supported over McCain back in the primary season in the year 2000 was your stand against this very bill. Stand up for free speech. Veto this bill. W knows how many people listen to Rush.....I bet they monitor his programs, a great way to hear the people and get a feel for where the grass roots are at, politically and intellectually. I already called the White House the other day. I read on another thread that he is, apparently, getting lots of calls from the people to veto this bill. I sure hope he does.

Send it back to the Congress to take the advertising portion out, sign it and wait for the Supreme Court to overturn.

I've been listening to Rush the last couple of days and he's been on a roll reference this stupid CFR bill. I also called the White House, (202)-456-1414, along with several other members of my family.

How convenient for Rush........when the President vetoes this monstrousity if it ever gets to his desk....Rush will take all the credit. heaven help us......

I do not fault Bush on foreign affairs, however, his domestic agenda to me is a sham. It looks like the democrats wrote it, especialy the Home Security thing, in the long haul that scares me. Somewhere in the past I recall Bush talking about "less government", hardly been the case.

Who cares who takes the credit as long as the Constitution is not disturbed. President Bush just needs to use his political capital to ensure that the public understands the gravity of signing this sham into law.

The Senate has one last chance to kill it, but those gutless wonders probably won't. If necessary, I think Bush will veto it, but it can't hurt to remind him that we're counting on him to do so.

Rush is right (as usual).
What is wrong with President Bush? It's not just that he's being a weenie on this issue. I've just finished my morning conservative reading and it is amazing how uniformly main-stream conservatives are disparaging Bush. From his big-government, deficit-spending budget to his socialized education bills, he's losing credibility.
Also Bush and his administration continue to dis conservatives any chance they get. This is of course a well-established Bush theme that started well before he was President with his compassionate conservative slur (Meaning that the rest of us were not compassionate). It continued throughout the campaign and included such shining moments as apologizing to the pinkos of the NAACP for Republican prejudice (conveniently ignoring the fact that Lincoln was a Republican, the civil rights act was passed by a republican majority - but not a democratic majority - and blacks in prominent positions such as Justice Thomas were appointed by Republicans).
Unbelievably Bush just snubbed the CPAC - one of the premier and most powerful Republican organizations by ignoring their latest conference. Since the conference set a new record for attendance, what was Bush thinking? One sub-cabinet staffer who ignored the Bush marching orders to ignore this conference was reportedly sent with instructions not to mention that he was part of the Bush organization.
Other important recent slurs include Sec. of State/condom distribution Powell urging more sexual activity among unmarried teens.
It's time to hold Bush's feet to the fire and start getting a little respect.
Go Rush, Go!
