Well said. This is a bi-partisan assault on the average American. Thank you NAFTA/GATT/WTO (backed by the Bushes and Clinton). I seriously predict that one day, these forces will set up a copy of the European Union that will give US/Mexican/Canadian equal access to each other's country, possibly a common currency, and possibly a super parliment.
As I have said before, at least our money is still strong (for now) vs. the Peso. We could all go down and buy oceanfront property on the Mexican gulf, build a mansion, and get one of those hot senoritas (I have a soft spot for Mexican women) to cuddle up with and write off the world. It seems that our political parties have already written us off.
The other scenario is that we will all be future slaves in a Chinese factory making "stuff" for WalMart. Oh well, Chinese women are hot too and the Chinese food is great, not that we would be allowed any by our overlords.

Amnesty and the related "guest-worker" issue have surfaced anew partly because Mr. Bush is preparing once more to take up the matter with Mexican President Vicente Fox in Monterrey, Mexico, on March 22.
What use is the War on Terror if we Surrender on Soveriegnty?
None, as far as my vote's concerned.

As much as I like President Bush,(only President Regan has an equal place in my admiration), this is the one item, if passed that would cause my vote to go elsewhere in the next Presidentual election.

Bush's renewed support for amnesty for Mexican illegal immigrants so soon after the 9-11 terrorist attack which was conducted primarily by illegal immigrants (and facilitated by a Mexican illegal in VA) is an outrage and a slap in the face to all those who lost loves ones in the 9-11 terrorist attacks! When will Bush's seemingly endless pandering to liberal core voting groups and liberal special interest groups come to an end?? When will he put his money where his mouth is by greatly tightening our border security, limiting immigration, and expelling illegal immigrants so that the evil terrorist attacks of 9-11 will never again be repeated?

If this administration pulls off another amnesty or even puts some sort of Bracero program in place without taking action to make sure that existing illegals are not rewarded: the libertarians have one new vote.
Sorry, GWB is doing just fine everywhere else but this is an invasion just as threatening as any other.

A modest proposal:
Instead of another petition or email campaign,
why not ask everyone on FR to print this post and responses at the end of the day and bust 37 cents to mail it to the white house?

This immigration distaster continues. Its total insanity to even consider it. With hundreds of thousands of Americans being laid off since 9/11, even considering this is appalling!
We have the equivalent of 9 major cities of illegal aliens in our country already, with approximately another million entering every year.
The question in my mind is, will the rest of America wake up to this titanic invasion before its to late? Unfortunately, I am not confident of this.

...and the dumbing down of America continues unabated.

I consider this to be the act of a man who doesn't respect the laws of our nation. As such he should resign and go to work for the mob or some other concern that feels the same way he does about them.

There must be no amnesty, this side of the border! That idea should not be too hard to grasp.
On the broader subject of immigration, in general, see Immigration & The American Future. The bottom line is this: The factors that justified liberal immigration into America in the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries, simply no longer exist. The Liberals have been telling us for years that we are out of date. Well, on this one issue they are right. This is truly, the one issue for which times have changed.

Yes, that big middle class has even gotten in the way of the Republicans who find it a road block to their plans of combining the U.S., Mexico and Canada into one giant 3rd World country. Bush knows what he is doing. If a liberal pushed for this I might actually be inclined to give them a "slight" benefit of the doubt for the stupidity factor.

Bush has been a good President on a lot of issues, and compared to algore is much more preferred. But on this immigration issue I have no idea what he's thinking. This is not in the national interest.
If it's any consolation though, I seriously doubt any kind of amnesty or guest worker program will pass this Congress. I just don't see the support there. But I've been wrong before.

More slave labor for big business and illegal votes for DemoRatsThat's one angle, only I think it's meant as swinging the illegal vote for the Republicraps, this time. The more amnesty, the more illegals come...let's see, wasn't the last amnesty program early 90's?

The Bush administration is pushing Congress to act on the president's plan for granting amnesty to millions of Mexican workers living and working illegally in the United States. Key words here living and working illegally
Just what is W's major malfunction with this?
