And I'm so glad my mother gave me a chance to breath fresh air, smell my antique roses, and kiss my children everday. I've worked Maternity,..and I can assure you that a 6 week old fetus..is a baby!!! (So is a 1 week old fetus) (I believe it starts from conception!!) People really DO need to LOOK at the pics of aborted or spontaneously aborted babies. Then they will understand (hopefully).
I also had the horror of working for a Public Health Dept in California. I quit!!!
Young women were honest to God using abortion as a means of birth control!! In the 4 months I lasted in that environment as a supervisor over the clinic. I witnessed one young lady get two abortions. Upon looking at her chart.. it was obvious this was her means of BC.
Furthermore.. Partial Birth Abortion defies logic. How can it be harmful to a womans life to deliver,.. then they deliver vaginally to have a full term (at times) child killed while its arms and legs dangle from between the mothers legs?? They deliver a viable human being who could survive outside of the womb.. they deliver BREACH no less, which is by far harder than a normal delivery (head first). So explain that one to me??
In no way does it ever save a womans life. Other than from the economical and social responsibilities they would face had they not murdered the child.

Lets see if you truely have an 'honest opinion'.
I firmly believe in protecting a woman's reproductive rights. With all respect to my Catholic friends (I know we do not agree on this), I believe that every woman has the right to control whether she is able to conceive by whatever means -- pill, condom or diaphram, even abstainance (there's a concept!). But once conception has taken place, the rights of the new life is at least equal to the life of the woman.
While a woman has every right to control her own body, the growing child within her is NOT an appendage of her body, regardless of the popular myth (i.e., "lie") to the contrary.
Abortion for convenience is a blight upon our nation, and like slavery before it, abortion eats at the character of our nation. I think a link can be made between the liberalization of abortion and the rise in "disposable marriages," and child abuse. When greedy self-interest at the expense of the rights of others becomes "constitutionally protected," should we wonder why spouses can be tossed aside, and children can be beaten senseless? Roe vs. Wade will one day collapse under the weight of its own illogic -- it was a terrible decision, not only morally, but in a legal sense. The sooner the better.
BTW, Mary Ann, I noted with interest the "horror" you had of working in the public health arena. I attended a work group yesterday made up primarily of public health advocates, and I have to say that individually, each is a fine individual, but collectively, they are parasites.
Forgotten by the pro-aborts is that fact that abortion KILLS something, it ends a life. What is that something? If it is not human life, what is it?
