Some FReepers have nicks that are obvious in their origin, others don't. I've seen several that probably have interesting stories behind them.
I thought it would be cool to see where FReepers get their handles from. If you don't like this topic, DON'T POST HERE! No one forces you to read this. I'm sure other people may be interested. If I'm the only one, let me know so I can crawl away in shame.

Has admin moderator explained their name yet? How about the one that is on the side of the bar moderating?

You'd have to ask my parents.
To: All
Well, I became a Freeper about the time that General Shinseki had the brain storm to hand out black berets to the entire Army. Seeing as how I am a veteran of 1st BN 75th Ranger Rgmt., and the black beret, up until that time, had been the Ranger's headgear that had to be "earned, not issued", I was a bit disgusted at the idea.
Not a very good "handle" for posterity. All I can say is that I was a wee bit pissed off.

Heh... Admin Moderator is not a real creative name... I would think perhaps they would enjoy names like "Rudeness Czar" and the like!
To: condi2008
That is both fascinating AND clever. I will mysteriously leave the explanation of my own SN to your puzzlement. You're right, it is fascinating.
Now, I am racking my brain, but I am drawing a blank with your handle... Any clues? A new brand of motoroil? A catalogue number for an obscure machine part?

It's the color of a cloudless sky when you look up to watch the jets fly over.

Drive-By Anagrams ADMIN MODERATOR =
Tired monodrama.
Ramrod/dominate.
Ammonoid retard.
Random mediator.
A "dam" tired moron.
Dare admit moron?
Still being,
To: Come get it; an amused spectator
Well...mine name all started as a plan of replacing "an amused spectator". But low and behold he escaped my mercenaries and continues to haunt my very being....
Okay for real...I pride myself on my sense of humor. When I first came to FR and read stuff...it blew my mind. I always laugh out loud at some point while reading FR. After lurking for over a year I finally signed up to post my irrelevant BS. Hence, the name amused.

When I was a wild buck in the Marine Corps, and it looked like a fight was about to break out I always asked the other guy(s) "Are you sure you wanna tango?"
well...my initials are TC, so one day one of my buds was telling a story of one of our escapades and referred to me as Tango Charlie...and it stuck
there ya have it

Is it true that you used to be 'disgusted'?
To: AntiJen
When talk first started about the Intelligence School moving out to southern AZ from Mass., good ole Teddy's state, their papers were full of stories of how bad it was here. Burning besert heat, nothing but sand, like in the movie DUNE, only ratty trailer parks to live in, but you get the picture. So as a jibe back at them, SandRat.

Is it true that you used to be 'disgusted'? LOL. On occasion I can be disgusted but as a screen name lifestyle choice amused is more fun with less stress.

I swear...this seems like the most difficult forum program. I can't seem to get a grasp on it. Nonetheless, my handle is VERY easy. My real name is Jatana, however a lot of people can't pronouce it on the first try, so I spell it out for them. Juh Tan Uh. Juhtanuh :)
Wish it was more interesting
