Vanity: Newborn FReeper Needs Your Prayers

Dear Fellow Freepers:

Please forgive this vanity, but I'm asking our many prayer warriors for their much needed assistance.

On Monday, November 19, my placenta ruptured and I underwent an emergency c-section to save my baby girl, Skylar. The folks at Baylor did a fabulous job of rescuing us both, but Skylar has since been transferred to a Special Care unit at another hospital and will probably remain there for many weeks to come. Despite being nearly 5 lbs. and 18" long, she's only 33 weeks old and still underdeveloped in many ways.

Could you please include her in your prayers? My husband and I feel particularly helpless at this time, and are turning to the One True Source of Power for help.

From one "preemie" mom to another, you and your baby are in my prayers. My preemie, born at 30 weeks and 3.4 lbs. is 10 years old and just as lovely as can be. Try to get some rest, because in no time at all you will be able to spend lots of time in the hospital with your daughter. And don't be afraid to call and check on her any time of the day or night. Every time I woke up to pump my milk I would call.......sometimes more often than that. God bless.

Heavenly Father, I pray for this precious new little life, Skylar. Lord, be with her and help her to gain strength in her body and grow normally. In Jesus Name, amen.

We have a friend that just had a 4 pound daughter and she was in the hospital for awhile, but she's just great now.

A grandson was premature, also -- born with an infection and was on a respirator for month. He is now a year old - not walking yet, but an alert, bright, smiling, loveable little cutie.
