Ok I just gave my $.03 This is awesome...Great Idea...I may do this to evry Democratic Fundraiser I can find... I believe we should all contribute as many $.03 donations as we can in the future... After all, by contributing to both sides, we are being fair and balanced.... Joe Sonar5 PP-ASEL Veteran-USMC

One caveat that just occurred to me... Generally, you only give your CC info to outfits that you trust. Is there any doubt in anyone's mind that the Clintons might abuse a huge list of people's credit card information? Watch out for that mysterious debit for $100 six months down the road....
I say go and donate $5.00. It'll look legit, you'll get on their mailing list. Then you can toss the 10 letters a year that they'll send you and send back the BRCs empty. It'll end up costing them plenty in the long run... I had the same thought. I watch my cc bills as best I can, but still missed 5 straight months of Earthlink billing me for an account I hadn't had in 9 months, even though the first 3-4 months they DIDN'T bill. When I brought it to their attention, they weren't real excited about refunding, so I went ahead and let them credit me back the matching free months until next spring. I just didn't want to go through the hassle I had with AT&T when I cancelled THEIR service, and they still billed me for several months, and only credited me back 75%. As for AOL, which I am happy to leave, every time I call them to cancel, they give me free months as well. Does anyone know how to actually cancel an ISP? LOL

I'm going to log on right now and donate a hard-earned $0.01 to one of my favorite charities,Thanks, poppy-power. You're taking a step in the right direction. My only question is ... who actually earned this penny? You? Or, is it simply a penny you have set aside from your welfare check?
None of my business, of course. I was just curious.

Updated Info:
1. Authorize.net the firm that they are using charges .50 for each transaction.
2. Your name and other info won't even be made known to the library fund, it's all handled by Authorize.net with the funds being forwarded to them.
3. They can however choose not to accept your donation. (so far they are not doing this, yet.)
To: Creightongrad
I just did it! Three cents! They didn't accept it the first time because I tried to use a phony zip code. Gotta go. I'm going to do it again! (HeHeHeHe) I love this country.

Not bad for a first post. I lurked for a few months before my first post too, like you did. The only response I got was one private reply, like three days later, from someone who told me I was an A-hole. You did better than I did.
Back to your thread, though. I donated three cents three times already and got an E-mail confirmation each time. I'm going to keep on doing it until either they catch on, or I run out of money. Either way, it's a hoot!

"From our friends at plastic.com:Are Freepers Planning To Sabotage The Clinton Library Fund?
The less-than-mentally-balanced folks over at the ultra-conservative website www.freerepublic.com may be about to cross the line from mere nuts to cyber-terrorists," writes capuchin. "A thread being discussed now advocates (with overwhelming support) a scheme to suck money away from the Clinton Library Fund through small donations (2-3 cents each) that will actually cost money for the fund to process."

You are so right Ragtime Cowgirl.
To: visagoth
That may not have the desired effect, without thinking about it, they are also spreading the word. Far more folks lurk at those sites to get a good laugh at their expense than "actually" belong to their cause.
To: visagoth
"Suck money" away from the Clinton Library? Poor choice of works in light of what will take place in the penthouse apartment on top of the library.
Why are people who disagree with the Clintons ethically wrong or mentally unbalanced? Pure ad hominen attacks. The last refuge of the grifter.
To: Creightongrad
Why so generous? I like the sound of $.01.

BUMP! DO IT everyone!!!
3¢ for $3 Bill...
To: Creightongrad
It'll be interesting to see how the Clintonistas respond.
Here's the only snag I can think of; the Library is a tax-deductible charity. Its quite possible that the company that processes the donations does it for free and then writes off the cost. Tax experts please weigh in on this.
Either way you've shown good initiative. Welcome to the party.

Why oh why can't I have a devious mind like yours?
I did my patriotic duty and donated 0.03 cents and it was accepted. The best part is I'm cancelling that card in a few short days. No need to worry about suspicious charges showing up. heh heh heh!!
To: Creightongrad
Bump for later reading.

The Dems say that I'm a wife-beater and that this is a "new low." I'd consider it to be a new low to continue to support a guy who used his constitutional powers to release people from jail who bombed public buildings and killed police officers.
Can anyone dispute that these pardons happened?
To: visagoth
Well, at least there's one thing the RATS Shameless Leader taught them to recognize -- sucking. Gotta admit -- they do know all about sucking.
I am not having "ze dirty mind." If you are having "ze dirty mind," then you should be banning your own self, "n'est-ce pas?! Mais oui! C'est tres bonnes que nous sommes sympathetique." ;-}
