Your tongue-in-cheek use of the word "enlightened" is most apropos- this is from the "rules" page of the democraticunderground (you have to pity a coward who cannot stomach debate): All individuals and opinions of the left-wing persuasion are welcome here. The owners of this board do not care if you are a militant DLC centrist, or a militant Green Party Socialist. There is no "party line" to toe, and you will not get kicked off our board simply for espousing an opinion that is unpopular on the left. We ban conservative disruptors who are clearly opposed to the broad goals of this website. The purpose of this website is to provide a discussion forum for Democrats and other individuals from the political left. We are building an online movement to effect progressive change in our country. As a privately run website, we are not obligated to give equal time to all points of view.

Might I suggest that you donate $1? My guess is that this will be enough to get you onto their mailing list and you will be FLOODED with liberal direct mail for ever and ever afterwards. Of course, you can throw this stuff in the trash, on the fire, etc, but it will end up costing them a bundle in the long run. Also, you might want to send the business reply envelopes back with no money, but a nice message...

It could work, the worst thing that could happen is FOB's in the credit card processing business and they eat the cost and give the $30,000 to the foundation. Bill gets more money, his friends recoup the money through higher rates through other credit card holders.
I'll wait and trust what I've read that the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just.

One caveat that just occurred to me...
Generally, you only give your CC info to outfits that you trust. Is there any doubt in anyone's mind that the Clintons might abuse a huge list of people's credit card information? Watch out for that mysterious debit for $100 six months down the road....
I say go and donate $5.00. It'll look legit, you'll get on their mailing list. Then you can toss the 10 letters a year that they'll send you and send back the BRCs empty. It'll end up costing them plenty in the long run...

'I like this idea a lot. I am just worried about then being put on every dem fundraising mailing list on the planet. '
It would be worth sending a $.03 contribution to every liberal organization that contacts me. LOL Hey!!! Watch out Animal Rights, PETA, ESA; maybe we could bankrupt all of them.

Clearly you'll have to watch your card bills closely but I'm sure you do already. A false $100 charge is a crime; maybe even a felony. It's not about sex so maybe the law will be enforced.

I didn't 'donate' because I just don't feel that as a Kiwi I can be quite so patriotic. But I had a look at the site and - VOMIT!!!! - how can someone think so much of himself??
