As for the Yankee haters that root for other teams, what are you celebrating?

The bin Ladens are happy with this outcome. Please tell me that you are just being a Sore Loserman. At any rate, I understand that NY needs something to cheer about. However, I dont think you realize how deep the feelings about the Yanks go. Hell, I still get mad about the George Brett pine tar incident and smile with glee whenever I see Brett's 9th inning 3 run shot off Goose Gossage in the divisional series. I just wanted to see someone else win for a change.

Why is it disappointing? Arizona team members are just as American as the New York Yankee team members. In fact, Curt Shilling of the Diamondbacks penned that excellent pro-American essay after 9/11.

I know how deep they go. Right down to that big spot of jealousy in your heart. The most successful team in Baseball- of all time! No team will ever duplicate what the Yankees have done because they are still doing it!
However, although I am a Yankee fan, I do congratulate the DB's. It was a good, solid, clean World Series. Can't wait for the re-matych next year.

Not as cool as when Maz hit the homer in 1960 to beat the Yanks - but the outcome is the same - Yanks go home losers.
I guess it was a good series - going all 7 games and all. But - I am not a big baseball fan....

Micky Lolich did it in 1968 and I think (not sure) Bob Gibson did it against the Yanks in 1964. It's been done a few times -- but I don't think anyone has ever won both game 6 and game 7 before. Schilling and the Unit are like Viola/Blyleven gone nuclear.
