How many comments have your name on them at Free Republic?

When you do a Self-Search, how many comments does the page show that you've made or have been made to you?

I've got so many that I'm afraid it is conclusive evidence of Freeper Madness.

It seems to be a straight count including no longer used user #s (booted off and such?) that goes back starting with Jim Robinson in November 1997. But you'd have to ask him if you want to know fatcs. I'm just deducing from what info I have, but it seems to be a highly likely deduction.

Thats you, but if you substitute a different user number and paste it into your search window, for instance "u=1" is Jim Robinson) "u=2" is no longer in use. (no current freeper by that name.) So it seems that there are no- longer-in-use user #s. Who know how many of those might be Ash or other repeat disruptors who re-register. But you have to admit, that 72,000 plus is still pretty impressive amount of users on this Constitution oriented website.

Hmmmm, somethings weird here.
I've got 5200 since March in self search, & I'd swear I've posted up in the hundreds of articles. - But conceding that 84 is right on articles posted, - does this mean I've had 6246 replies to my articles?
- I certainly didn't post an average 74 times to my own articles, nor does it make any sense that I have 5200 posts since March, 01; -- and only 6200 since Jan 98.

Anyone make any sense of these stats?

I actually had to stop FR for a while when I got tendonitis (sp) in my arm when I was lurking on FR.

Self search is the only way I use FR. I get so many comments it's impossible to keep up.

Yep. I lurked for awhile before registering myself. Some people may never register.

Here's a little math: Since the count from Nov 97:
72,000+ registered users by Oct 31 comes down to
1,500 new users per month or
49.3 new registrations per day. Of course, we could make lots of jokes about the .3 but I'll refrain.
