I'm shocked - WORCESTER MASSACHUSETTS isn't listed this year!!!!!
hopefully the blues will not want to be caught dead in a red zone.
Time to go there B4 the media gets the word.
It's like a little bit of Berkeley dropped into Ohio.
Ya gotta be sh-ttin' me! High property taxes, mediocre schools and the commute on the LIRR isn't THAT great (although better than, say, Huntington). Cool beach and Irish bars though.
I see absolutely NO attempt here to correlate some of THE MOST important things to look for in a community:
LOCATION IN A NO-INCOME TAX STATE like TN, FL, NH, etc.
LOW-CRIME RATES
AVAILABILITY OF HIGH-QUALITY PRIVATE SCHOOLS
AVAILABILITY OF HIGH-ACCREDITATION HOSPITALS
LOW RISK OF FLOODS, TORNADOES, EARTHQUAKES, OTHER NATURAL DISASTERS
ETC.
Instead it just looks like a bunch of real estate agents' puff pieces.
I just notice Yellow Springs is on the list!! I went to college in Yellow Springs! Yellow Springs is the reddest of red towns (CAPITAL RED AS IN THROUGH-AND-THROUGH COMMUNIST). The college even has an outdoor gathering place called "Red Square" fer criminey sake. It's also only about 9 miles north of Xenia -- the center of one of the deadliest KILLER tornadoes in recent memory.
OHIO HAS A STATE INCOME TAX.
NOOOOOOO, thanks....
Hmmmm. After 4 hurricanes in a month Florida has 20 great places to live?
We're on that list. There goes the neighborhood indeed! Of course, desirability is relative. There are other places on that list that I would NOT consider desirable.
There is a rotten socialist core in the Little Apple.
First relatively high taxes, consider neighboring South Dakota has no state income tax and equally low property taxes.
Second, Tom Harkin as your Senator and liberal Tom Vilsack as Governor.
No death penalty ..consider this after a recent rape and murder of a young girl in eastern Iowa by a known sex offender.
You might want to consider Sioux Falls as a better destination.
That can't be. This must be a misprint. Long Beach, CA?
Ashville, NC? Beautiful area, sure, but I'll stay away from a place whose mayor is basically a Satan-worshipper...
It would be nice to see if these cities are "D" or "R".
Red city in a red parish(county) in a red congressional district in a red state in the South. Made up almost entirely of people fleeing the crime and corruption of New Orleans. A little pricey for down here, but a very nice place.
I have lived in many of those cities listed and I left because they were not a "top" place to live. YUMA?? Give me a break, next year EL CENTRO will be on the list...LOL~, maybe it should read top 100 for illegal immigrants to live...LOL!
I see Madisno WI is on the list, 'though there is talk locally of a "brain drain" with smart people feeling this socialist republic.
(sigh) I wish I were smart.
Announcement: AUBURN IS A HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE. DON'T MOVE TO AUBURN. STAY AWAY.
While I'm thinking of it:
DON'T MOVE TO ANY PLACE IN ALABAMA OR ANY PART OF THE SOUTH. STAY OUT! YOU WON'T LIKE IT HERE THERE!
Could it be because of the taxes and cost of business here? Thanks Granholm.
Bear in mind that this list was produced by a real estate sales group.
People who have an interest in helping others move frequently.
