Senator Rand Paul, a conservative Republican whose vote is being courted by supporters of a broad U.S. immigration bill, said on Sunday he is open to voting for the measure but wants changes, including tougher border security requirements. Paul, who has hinted at an interest in running for president in 2016, in March backed the concept of a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants that is at the heart of a comprehensive immigration bill under consideration in the U.S. Senate.
But Paul, of Kentucky, has also criticized some elements of the bill, saying it should provide a mechanism for assuring that the U.S. border with Mexico is secure. Paul also wants to see an expansion of visa programs that allow companies to hire workers from abroad.

I wanna hear the Randistinian spin of his support of Illegal Alien Amnesty.....those folks are as bad as the Obots
The U.S. is over. The Constitution is dead. The GOP is totally useless.
I’m done. I have an uncle in Costa Rica with a huge house. He says I’m welcome.
I don’t know what is worse; the fact our republic is being destroyed or the fact no one has the cajones to DO something about it.
He didn’t say he would vote for it, but being “open” to it sounds like, “If you add some language that gives my a** cover WRT “enforcement” (but will never really do anything) and add a couple of zeros to the right of your offer....”
Agreed.
just like the stunt of standing there against a bill but then voting for it.
me neither, it seems make a few statements and then he;s or she is great
No. I'm saying that if someone even hints that someone might want to do something in relation to fixing our screwed up border situation then suddenly a bunch of you run around saying *insert elected target* are for a blanket amnesty despite them saying no such damn thing.
Get a grip.
Rand Paul, like his dad, probably cares more for pot smokers in Austin and worse (and the federal government has no authority to ban pot, given it took an Amendment to ban booze).
Sorry Mr. Alynski, I’m not related to either of them.
He didnt say he would vote for it, but being open to it sounds like, If you add some language that gives my a** cover ...”
Excactly. NO bill regarding “reform” will get passed as anything but amnesty. The Dems wouldn’t touch it otherwise.
Sorry,
But he did support amnesty and amnesty is what this bill is all about.
Quote from the article:
“Paul, who has hinted at an interest in running for president in 2016, in March backed the concept of a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants that is at the heart of a comprehensive immigration bill under consideration in the U.S. Senate.”
He may back off this stand and if he does back off and votes NO on this bill I will still support him. Otherwise...
It’s a bad bill, DC. Rand Paul should be absolutely inflamed against ANY 1000 page bill.
The devil is always in the details.
Imagine what a lawyer can do with a single clause, and then expand that into the exponential stratosphere.
Don’t you see? If we get ahead of this and pass amnesty before the Democrats do, then we can probably get 2 or 3 million of that 20 million to vote for us instead!
Wow, sucks the U.S. Senate has only three members, so the only people we can "stand with" are your guy or "McCain and Graham". I really wish there were other people to stand with, like Ted Cruz.
....joy....
It is a bad bill. Which is why he said he’d block it if changes weren’t made. Rand has stated previously that his “path to citizenship” includes going back to your home Country and applying for citizenship.
Isn’t that exactly what we want?
Or do we just want to round them all up and execute them?
yeah, rand paul is our savior...
it is us versus them..
not pub versus dem..
not lib versus conservative..
but citizen versus ruling class..
if you do not see this, then all is indeed lost
I agree.
