Well, I think it could be true for the same reason that intelligent people have a higher tendency towards depression. If you are intelligent, you will notice more about what is wrong with the world, which can make you want to curse or make you depressed.

If you’re not so intelligent, you may just be blissfully unaware of all the problems around you.
