COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul's supporters raised over $6 million Sunday to boost the 10-term Texas congressman's campaign for the White House.
Called a "Money Bomb," the goal was to raise as much money as possible on the Internet in one day. The campaign's previous fundraiser brought in $4.2 million.
At midnight EST, donations were over $6 million, according to the campaign Web site. Those donations are processed credit card receipts, said Paul campaign spokesman Jesse Benton. Benton said the median donation is about $50 in the fundraiser, which was the idea of Paul supporters who are not officially connected to the campaign.
Trevor Lyman, a Paul supporter who is traveling the country following the Ron Paul blimp, said the date of the fundraiser coincides with the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party.
The Ron Paul blimp is an aerial billboard emblazoned on one side with "Who is Ron Paul? Google Ron Paul." The other side reads "Ron Paul Revolution." The blimp, another grass-roots effort, was in Chester, S.C., on Sunday, and organizers hope to get it to New Hampshire before the Jan. 8 primary there.

11% in South Carolina last I checked, and about 8% in New Hampshire (where the darlin’ of FR, Thompson, as about 2%). Gosh, first time I’ve ever seen freepers put so much weight on the MSM polls.

Yes, because like billbears, I am waiting for my refund check from Soros. Extremely Extreme Extremist has already stated he needs the check too because his mom is getting ready to kick him out of the basement.
Lets investigate real americans who’s donations average about 100.00 while Hillary and the rest get max donations of 2300.00 from waiters and dishwashers. Makes a lot of sense.

He fought them indirectly in multiple fronts (read up on his presidency). And he put them in an arms race...depletely them of funds. While inplanting multiple propaganda radio shows throughout the communist regime. So yes he did, but not directly. : )
An excellent president on foreign policy, and apparently a fan Sun Tzu. Bush skipped that book.

Wow...don’t know much about that era?
Previous to Japan’s alliance with Germany, we held a rather neutral policy with Japan. Now even though they were slaughteing the Chinese people, we didn’t take a definitive stance. The moment FDR saw an opening to get war, he did.
That’s when Japan allied themselves with Germany. FDR immediately changed his policy on Japan, and said it was bad that they were killing Chinese people...lol...as though that was the reason. Churchill was begging him to enter the war, and FDR wanted to. They met several times over this issue. So FDR set-up various sanctions that would cripple the Japanese war machine.
The Japanese had no alternative but to fight us at that point. FDR got his war. Thankful. Otherwise we would have been residing under the Nazi’s and Japanese.
Politicians outside of FDR’s circle wanted to ignore everything, and not even sanction Japan. The war with them wouldn’t have happened...Germany would have conquered Britain, and would have expanded their empire east. These politicians remind me of Ron Paul.

Ron Paul supporters have a weird perception of history.
Hmm, I guess you’re right that Reagan wasn’t perfect in his foreign policy (unless you believe that Grenada went a long way towards ending the Cold War). On this one I agree Margaret Thatcher, who argued against the intervention.

You are correct. I’ve met several Democrats at Ron Paul meetups. But I’ve also met more Republicans there than anything. Is it a bad thing to have a truly conservative candidate that is able to garner support from all over the political spectrum? Isn’t that how you’re supposed to win elections? By taking votes away from the other guy?
Think of all the Democrats and Independents RP is winning over primarily because of the anti-war message that will discover his fiscal conservatism and look into it and grow to understand it. We are witnessing a MASSIVE political realignment and I couldn’t be happier.
Dr. Ron Paul is a blessing for this nation at a time when we’ll need him most.
If RP wasn’t in the race, I’d probably lean towards Duncan. I met him a few weeks ago when he came to SC and he was very friendly.
But for me, this election is so much bigger than just the war. And I think if the Republican base was to weigh all the issues, they would realize that Dr. Paul stands with them 85-90% of the time...more than can be said for the other guys.
