On Nov. 5, supporters of Ron Paul raked in more than $4.2 million in donations in 24 hours, mostly of them collected over the Internet.
Today, they're at it again. Hoping to detonate what they call a "money bomb," the supporters started fundraising at midnight Saturday and have already raised $2 million as of about 10:30 a.m. today, more than at this point on Nov. 5, according to figures they posted online. They hope to collect a total of $10 million by midnight Sunday.
Last time, they tied their fundraising to Guy Fawkes Day, which commemorates a British mercenary who tried unsuccesfully to kill King James I on Nov. 5, 1605. This time, they're seizing on the 234th aniversary of the Boston Tea Party and converging on this snowy city to rally.
They plan on gathering on the State House steps at 1 p.m. and parading down to Faneuil Hall, where they will listen to speeches in tune with Paul's libertarian platform. Speakers will include the Republican presidential candidate's son, Dr. Rand Paul, an eye surgeon, and Carla Howell, the libertarian who ran unsuccesfully for governor in 2002.
There are also plans to dump some tea (or at least some boxes labeled tea) into the Harbor, though the details were still sketchy as of this morning.

Actually, I think we are in over 130 countries with over 700 bases around the world. God knows what our troops are doing there, I guess providing for the defense of these third world rat holes so whatever tin cup dictator happens to be flavor of the month there can spend more on social programs.
But, then again, our state deparment bureaucrats tell us we need allies amongst these socialist thugs to play our chess games, and keep balances of power and who knows what other rotgut globalist plans.
Don’t forget the torches and the horns growing out of their heads.
6 MILLION in 24 hours. Great job!
It’s closer to 6.4 million by my count.
Just getting started.
The problem with your analysis, is that Paul still supports a strong national defense and would still continue the search for bin Laden. The anti-war position is a traditional Republican Party position, not the Democrat position which has been corrupted by the anti-war left. You'd notice that the anti-war left didn't protest when Clinton bombed an aspirin factor in Sudan or sent troops to Bosnia. The anti-war left supports left-wing foreign policy pet causes which Paul opposes.
There is nothing left-wing about Paul's anti-war stand, it is the polar opposite than that of the anti-warism promoted by the left. If leftists are supporting him, then they're in for a rude awakening. The hard-core anti-war left is really supporting Obama and Kucinich because they favor military intervention for "humanitarian" causes like Darfur and Paul does not.
Ordinary Americans are opposed to the war now and they happen to be supporting Paul. These people wouldn't know Code Pink from Code Red Mountain Dew, and they hated Cindy Sheehan's disgusting tactics just as much as FReepers did. If the GOP wants to call regular joes who oppose the war moonbats, then they're going to lose the election. Badly. Again.
I’ve got nothing to say to you.
You make all those claims... WHERE’S THE BEEF???? PROVE them or STFU. I wonder just where we’d find you if we did a trace on your IP address.... maybe some sub basement in the Whitehouse???
Actually, many of Dean's supporters were paid by the campaign. The campaign told the "volunteers" what to do, how to organize, and where to show up, etc. The signs, the flyers...all paid for by the campaign and handed out to the "volunteers."
Dean's campaign ended in debt when he went pyscho after losing in Iowa. Plus Dean had tons of MSM coverage where we both know that Paul has had basically zilch.
*** if we did a trace on your IP address.... maybe some sub basement in the Whitehouse???***
LOL! Don’t worry about the nay sayers. Keep focused.
6MM dollar man, LOL. Classic.
Great day for RP and an outstanding day for his supporters.
I heard McCain raised enough money to buy a cup of coffee today. Romney wrote himself another check.
Like the boat with the blimp in the background. Nice job.
***The GOP needs to get away from the current we suck less mindset.***
You win the phrase of the month!
Awesome job, you all!!!
Thank you. :-]
