[Ron] Paul: A seller of ideas

They call him Dr. No -- no big government, no big spending, no flouting the Constitution. And no interest in slick political image.

U.S. Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) sticks to serious principles and says what he thinks. Someone is listening he raised millions in one day on the Internet.

No more Department of Education. No more Federal Reserve Bank. No more Medicare or Medicaid. No more membership in the United Nations or NATO. No more federal drug laws. And, no more U.S. troops in Iraq -- or anywhere else on foreign soil.

The Internal Revenue Service would be history in the first week that Ron Paul sits behind the desk in the Oval Office. And the dismantling of the above-mentioned entities and relationships -- plus a long list of others -- soon would commence.

Think that sounds eccentric, strange, even crazy? Many of the libertarian-minded, 10-term congressman's rivals for the GOP presidential nomination think so and have said so.

But, to a growing, Internet-based pool of supporters, the silver-haired obstetrician turned politician is the sanest man at the Republican debates and perhaps in all of Congress. Paul attracts an unusual political potpourri of people of all ages and viewpoints, including a sprinkling of conspiracy theorists and other extremists whose views Paul's campaign disavows. While most supporters ardently oppose the Iraq war, what they all share is a deep disenchantment and distrust of the federal government in its present form and a fervent belief in Paul's plans to change it.

Ron Paul is the only republican candidate who wants to surrender to al Qaeda. The same al Qaeda that attacked us on OUR soil killing 3000 of our innocent civilians. Now that is SOME idea that ONLY a COWARD could come up with.

Both the London and Madrid bombing took place after that time. Obvious Al Qeda was not destroyed in Afghanistan in 2001. It is being destroyed as we speak in Iraq, the Philippines, the Sudan and Afghanistan but it is not dead yet.

Your god, Der Paul, would resurrect Al Qeda by running away instead of finishing the job. That fact alone renders him completely unfit to be President.

You Neo Isolationists simply must grow up. Your habit of mindlessly clinging to prove failure of dogmas rather then bother to learn even a single fact about Iraq is simply inexcusable

Wrong. Paul is the only candidate who advocates abolishment of Govt. There is a huge difference between the two.

Another example of how Paul is simply unfit for the job. His complete inability to actually present a politically viable agenda. There is no what or how being presented by Paul’s campaign just a bunch of meaningless slogans and sound bites.

Paul is just screaming nice sounding rhetoric and emotional inflamed demagoguery which may make the Paulbots hearts beat faster, it does not qualify Paul for the job of President.

Specifically how? All revenue and taxation bills must originate in Congress, not the Executive. Are you saying that Paul will be some sort of dictator? Something this major would go beyond Unified Executive Theory, something Paul preaches against. I see his 'promise' to eliminate all taxes and the IRS as simply a way of pandering for votes from the suckers who think he could do this.

Yeah, it is just a coincidence Saddam asked for volunteers from his AIR FORCE for attacks against US interests around the world, SIX MONTHS before the attacks of 9/11. If Paul had his way Saddam would still be in power to rape and murder the innocent. We would then have Iran and Iraq racing to get nukes.

I’d say that just the number of folks he is talking about firing would be enough to keep him from ever winning the election. There must be millions of people who work for all these agencies and bureaucracies who probably aren't interested in voting themselves out of jobs.

A good reason to prevent those folks and anyone else on the government dole from voting.

This isn't in support of Ron Paul, per se, but the government shouldn't be elected by those seeking direct gains from it.

Paul could care less if our troops have victory. He wants to bring them home with a defeat against al Qaeda. Since you support Paul, I guess that makes you a hypocrite! No different than a liberal.

Ron Paul is going to get this all done in his first week? Congress will say “yay!” lets all get on board the Ron Paul express. Break out the rubber stamps! Go! Go! Go! Sign faster! We’ve got to get this back to Ron Paul so it can be signed into law.

We’ve got to get all of this bureaucracy out on the streets and moved into productive employment in the private sector! Damn the unions! What do WE care what they think!

Bush tried to privatize a portion of Social Security. Republicans slapped him down.

We had to almost go to our representatives offices and kick their ass so they would not pass the POS immigration bill this year.
