I heartily encourage everyone to visit the home page of
The Underground Grammarian, lovingly created by one Mark Alexander in tribute to Richard Mitchell.

It could've been worse: he might've complained that it was a cheep shot.

Details do matter.
I've heard it said that God is in the details; I've also heard the devil is in the details.
Would the Mona Lisa be as famous without her enigmatic smile?

I visted those websites, and they are very impressive. I am a classical musician, and I would love it there. The problem is, N.O. masses like these are pretty rare. So what does a Catholic (or, in my case, a potential future Catholic) do if he/she doesn't live anywhere near this kind of mass? The fact that St. Agnes and Assumption Grotto are very much the exception suggests to me that the trads must be on to something when they argue that there is something inherently wrong with the Novus Ordo, even if it's
possible for the occasional parish to overcome the usual deficiencies associated with it.
Coincidentally, I am currently preparing to audition for a job with the Minnesota Orchestra. If I win it, I will certainly pay a visit to St. Agnes as well as the local Indult.

My guess if there wasnt a indult, that there would be more St Agnes' and Assumption Grottos, because Traidtional and traditional leaning Catholics would force at least a parish or two in most large diocese to be reverent, and use traditional rubrics. In many cases, Catholics who are intrested in high quality liturgy avoid the Novus Ordo alltogether when they travel and when they move to new areas because they know when they go to a indult or even SSPX, they know they are getting good quality liturgy and solid theology.
As for the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, my guess is that St Agnes, the parish with the Novus Ordo in Latin will have far higher quality liturgy than St Augustine, the parish with the indult.

Well, she wouldn't be that famous WITH it if she had not been stolen right off the wall at the Louvre.

I don't know about that: Napoleon thought enough of her to hang her over his bed for four years.
That was way before it got stolen.
Still, the ripoff of the Gardner Museum in Boston was much worse IMHO.
