Here's a link to today's (Mon 8/25/03) broadcast of Focus on the Family with Dr. James Dobson.
Aired today but taped from yesterday. 30 minutes

or

Guests: Judge Roy Moore and Alan Keyes
Hear from the Judge himself.
Topic: The constitutionality of displaying the 10 Commandments monument in the Alabama Judicial Center
This is a MUST HEAR. If you think you already know all about the nuances of this issue, listen anyway. It's one of the best programs I've heard Focus on the Family do in years. Both guests are very well-versed in the Constitution and the Law.
TOPICS: Activism; Apologetics; Current Events; General Discusssion; History; Moral Issues; Religion & Culture; Religion & Politics; Theology

The same folks who went ballastic over Clarence Thomas in the judiciary are going ballistic over this Commandments thing. We swear on the Bible before testifying in court but cannot stand to look at the Commandments written in that same Bible. What a strange, wicked people we are.

We swear on the Bible before testifying in court DO you know that we don't really have to swear on the Bible anymore? It is perfectly legal to swear on NOTHING to testify in court. Isn't this ridiculous? If you can't swear on the name of someone higher than yourself like God, then why swear at all? Why tell the truth at all.

You're welcome.
Since I'm pretty new here on FR --no friends yet :(, I kind of just scoured some threads and picked up some people who seem to be like-minded, at least on the issue of the Ten Commandments monument.
In other words, you are #1 on my newly established ping list :)
I'd be honored if you could add me to your ping list, as well. Best Regards.

Thanx for adding me! It seems that I do share your views. And welcome to FR!

Since I'm pretty new here on FR --no friends yet I'll be your friend. I don't agree with Keyes, and Dobson, and Moore, but I'll be your friend, nonetheless, if you want.

If Judge Moore had set up a statue of a nude in the rotunda, would anyone be fighting for his right to keep it up?
What if he had put up a statue of Mary having an abortion would anyone be fighting for his right to keep it up?
Would they be saying, "He has a right to express himself in any form of art that he chooses?"

You bring credit to the exalted name of Hyacinth Bucket - and your sense of humor is obviously excellent. Just be careful, there's a Throatwobbler Mangrove and a Frumious Bandersnatch around somewhere. :)

Lovely, decent people, you all are. Really, I'm so very touched. There's a teardrop forming right about now.
Thanks, sinkspur. I was wondering when you'll get to this thread. I'm sure your offer of friendship has absolutely nothing to do with your unpopularity lately ;) My not pinging you was just an oversight, honest.
xJones: Throatwobbler Mangrove was my first choice for usernames and I was DEEPLY SADDENED when I found out it was already taken. Frumious Bandersnatch is my half brother. He really shouldn't be using his real name but where we come from Frumious Bandersnatch is as common as John Smith.
Good Night, Friends!

If Judge Moore had set up a statue of a nude in the rotunda, would anyone be fighting for his right to keep it up? Actually there is probably a nude statue in almost every courthouse in America. You just gotta look around.
