In the name of bi-partisan ecumenicism...

Jim Robinson is a bit tired of Religious folk bashing each other, and he's let it be known in a recent thread.
So, in the name of bi-partisan ecumenicism I offer lighthearted thought. I am a Southern Baptist and I see things a certain way. But I've fashioned some compromises in the form of alternative song titles:
"I Wish They All Could Be Southern Baptist Girls".
or, "I wish they all could be Pentecostal Girls".
How about "I wish they all could be Calv'ry Chapel Girls".
No, well then, "I wish they all could be Plymouth Brethren Girls".
Ok, why not "I wish they all could be Presbyterian Girls"
Too Reformed, huh? Well, why not:
"I wish they all could be Roman Catholic Girls".
Then again, since so much is happening over in Iraq:
"I wish they all could be Middle Eastern Girls" --------------
On the other hand, maybe you want to keep your mind on missionary work:
"PREACHIN' U.S.A."
"PREACHIN' SAFARI"
"SIDEWALK PREACHIN'" ---------------
Back to Iraq:
"HELP ME, RUMSFELD (GET HIM OUT OF IRAAAAAQ)!
Okeedokee. Have a good morning, then.

I think that Brian Wilson was real good, too.
Too bad he's the poster boy for the anti-drug commercials (and I mean that in a heartfelt way--I feel very sorry for him AND for us.)
OTOH, to be a wet blanket, Rock'n'Roll is distinctly non-Christian (sorry to be such a bad guy.) Back beat is bad for the portion of the body beneath the navel.
MORE MAHLER!!!!
Ping Desdemona for her expert assistance.

Too bad he's the poster boy for the anti-drug commercialsNot anymore. Although he does have to take medication, he longer does illegal substances to my knowledge.
BTW, Back beat is not necessarily bad. Me like good back beat:-)

Mahler?
Brian Wilson?
What makes you think I'm such and expert? GIve me Mozart and Verdi or give me death.

Have you seen the movie
AMADEUS?
The DVD has a lot of extra stuff. Do you like choral music?

At a singles retreat talent show years back this song "California Girls >> Northwest Bible Girls" was parodied. I still remember the following line:
"I dig a pre-millenial, four point Calvin-ist, pro-life, Wheaton grad."
Kinda gives my background!

Yeah, I like a fight, too, but the internet goes too slow. I prefer audio (in person or by phone) debates.

Wow. Dallas
and Westminster (Westminster in California?). I have a very close friend (whom I might marry) who graduated from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
I also voted for a guy from Texas (He's currently whipping Saddam's camel).
Did you know Greek professor Dan Wallace when you were at Dallas? Was Norm Geisler still there when you were?

If you are a Jimbo clone trying to get us to play nice, you're wasting time and bandwidth, go back to the hobbit hole or what ever

Westminster (Philly). I was the token dispensationalist on the campus at the time. WTS required a semester at another school in their PhD program so I studied at Southwestern Seminary under Dr. Estep.
Geisler came after I graduated from DTS as did Dan Wallace. I attended DTS in the era of Walvoord, Ryrie, Hodges, Waltke, Robinson, Hoehner and SL Johnson. Great faculty as was Westminster's.
BTW, if you marry that SWBTS grad there better be no dancing at the reception!

LoL! My side is splitting! I thought I erred on the side of giving too much info on my profile page! I'm a little surprised you don't know who I am. I'm known for fighting on FR (see the links on my profile page, especially the John Rothmann abortion links, and "tame's" activism updates, and my freeping of Dan Rather, etc.).
I signed on to FR about 3 or 4 years ago.

Well, praise God brother, lol:-)
No, I'm definitely not a jimbo clone, although he is from my hometown, and I must admit I like his website:-)
BTW, I was hoping to learn more about you but there's not anything on your profile page.
The Lord Bless Thee:-)

Westminster (Philly). I was the token dispensationalist on the campus at the time.Funny you should mention that as I am currently re-evaluating the question of dispensationalism v covenantalism (of course, I've grown up under disp. pastors in my church).
... I studied at Southwestern Seminary under Dr. Estep.
I'll ask her if she knows of him.

Funny you should mention that, too since I guess our pastor would not approve. I don't care to have dancing...but music is a must!

BTW, Dr. Estep is now with the Lord. He's also with Calvin, whom he did not care for too much, saying it mildly.
