QUESTION: What is wrong with the New King James Version (NKJV)? All it does is modernize the words of the King James Bible, right? Why should I read the King James and not the helpful New King James?

This will really confuse everyone:
I got saved through reading from the Douay-Rheims translation!
I bet some KJV-only types would find that to be heretical!

The heretics attack my favorite translation. I'll be back after I put on my war paint.

What is wrong with the New King James Version (NKJV)?Nothing an intelligent reader can't handle.

Isn't amazing that, despite mountains of evidence to the contrary being posted here, Commander8 continues to post the simplistic, biased, uninformed articles by KJVOnly bigots? I suspect Commander8 merely posts these articles, never to return to read any of the information we have supplied.

I'm yearning for the return of Grant Swank. His article are beginning to sound brilliant by comparison.

There's a logical fallacy in that article. I was NOT claiming that the DRV is infallible because I got saved through it. My claim is that ALL the translations are exactly that: TRANSLATIONS done by men. Does that prevent the Word of God from being understood by the reader if the translation is maybe 99.999 or 99.998% accurate?
No. JESUS saved me, not the DRV, and not the KJV either.
The KJV is NOT the inspired and infallible Word of God, only the original manuscripts are.
What does that mean? It means I have to be content using a 99.999% accurate version, be it NIV, NASB, KJV, etc. (I will admit the NIV is less "accurate" than let's say the NASB, but the NASB is better that the KJV.)
But since God is communicating through His Word, THAT THAT THAT is how people get saved through other translations.
The KJV-onlism people have put a stumbling block in front of people with their insistence on KJV-onlyism. I hear it all the time on talk radio when somepne calls in saying that the only truth is in "the King James version of the Bible". I CRINGE in horror everytime I hear that.......................

Psalm 12:6-7
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of the earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever.
When you say there is no perfect Word of God, you are calling God a liar.
To: Commander8
There is no PERFECT TRANSLATION. And none of the Bible was written in English.

"When you say there is no perfect Word of God, you are calling God a liar." The name Psalms in Hebrew is "Tehilim." It is a derivative of the Root "Hallel" which means "praise". The entire book of Psalms (Tehilim) was originally written in the divine spiritual language Hebrew, and not in the king's English.
When you say that the only perfect Word of God is the KJV, you Sir are calling God a liar.

I bet that commander8 witnesses in Jacobian English.
Mine eyes would with certainty see that Calvin knave piss his garments as we-eth all (Texas Jacobian) observeth ye faces of those with whom commander Jacobian doth witness. Of that we doth know well sure by golly.
[commander Jacobian]: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
[Infidel 1 to 2]: Dude, what's up with the Shakespearean fossil?
[Infidel 2 to 1]: Dudeth, I knoweth not, but we mighteth needeth to flee as he needeth a new doseth from thee apothecary (sp).
[Infidel 1 to 2]: Radical! He's on a mind-bender for sure.
