Our Politically Correct Theologian-in-Chief
Chuck Baldwin Live ^ | 12/13/2002 | Chuck Baldwin

There is little argument over the fact that G. W. Bush was elected President partly due to the strength of his Christian profession. Yes, America is still comprised of a host of Christian people. Statistics show that of those Christians who voted in the 2000 presidential election, the vast majority voted for Bush.

Bush's Christian profession has served him well as a constant blanket of protection from criticism. Even though many of his policies diametrically oppose fundamental Christian teaching, Bush continues to enjoy immense popularity among evangelical Christians. Why? They feel he is one of them.

However, President Bush has repeatedly demonstrated colossal ignorance of Biblical truth. The latest example of this ineptness occurred just recently as Bush gushed over the Muslim religion during Ramadan.

While worshipping at the Islamic Center of Washington, Bush remarked, "Islam traces its origins back to God's call on Abraham. And Ramadan commemorates the revelation of God's word in the Holy Koran to the prophet Mohammed."

Does Mr. Bush not realize that the Holy Bible, not the Koran, is the one and only written revelation of God to man? Is he that ignorant of Christian teaching? Or, was he deliberately denying Christian doctrine in order to curry favor with his Muslim hosts?

It appears that we not only have a Commander-in-Chief, we also have a Theologian-in-Chief. Unfortunately, the theology officially embraced by this administration seems to be the theology of political correctness.

Even more disturbing is the manner in which Christian ministers have accepted Bush's apostasy. At the national level, only Pat Robertson and Franklin Graham seem willing to correctly identify the Muslim religion for what it is: a religion of violence and hatred.

In an attempt to be politically correct, President Bush and the Christian ministers who continually defend him are jeopardizing our children's future by obfuscating America's distinct Christian heritage. If this trend continues, the U.S. will quickly join Great Britain as the next developing Muslim state.

There is a problem here that others choose not to see...

It looks very much like there was some pandering to the Religious right before he was elected...seems to choke on the name of Jesus now and kinnda dances around it..

Lots of compromise..that is not a good spiritual sign

The Cherokee have a prophecy that in the last days a Kachina will take off his mask in "a dance in the plaza" and reveal himself for what he is. Some see this as Bush at the UN.

Sure it wasn't "in the last days a Kachina will take off his pants in 'a romp in the oval office' and reveal himself for what he is." In this case it has been fulfilled by the slick Kaschina. :<)

Bush is a Methodist and is just acting as he was taught to act. He thinks it is the proper Christian way. He doesn't know any better.

Can I take it you agree that, "Ramadan commemorates the revelation of God's word in the Holy Koran to the prophet Mohammed"?

Bush: "...And Ramadan commemorates the revelation of God's word in the Holy Koran to the prophet Mohammed."

sinkspur: Baldwin is our nation's Whiner-in-Chief.

Even if you're right about Baldwin, the writer didn't force Bush to issue such a Biblically incoherent statement.

You really can't so easily distract people from Bush's shortcomings in his pronouncements on matters of faith. His many similar remarks over an extended period of time are sufficient evidence that he is not an orthodox Christian.

The Koran is not the Word of God and Mohammad was not a prophet of the God of Israel and Allah is not God. You have any problems with that statement? Bush certainly seems to, that is, if words still have meaning. And that's the point of this article, not whether you care for Baldwin's opinions.

**Does Mr. Bush not realize that the Holy Bible, not the Koran, is the one and only written revelation of God to man?**

Along with Holy Tradition with a capital T before the Bible was written out. Tradition addresses that part of Christianity that was passed down by word of mouth while being inspired by the Holy Spirit, of course.

I don't think Christianity is a religion of a nation. The only people who can destroy this nation are the individuals who claim to be Christians, not the leaders.

"It appears that we not only have a Commander-in-Chief, we also have a Theologian-in-Chief. Unfortunately, the theology officially embraced by this administration seems to be the theology of political correctness. "

Gal 2:11-14

11 When Peter came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he was clearly in the wrong.

12 Before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group.

13 The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.

14 When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter in front of them all, "You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs? (NIV)

Seems some on this thread would find the Apostle Peter a little to unorthodox and politically correct to be Commander in Chief

So excommunicate him.

Your jesuitical canonicals are growing tiresome.

Your petty complaints aside, I perceive that you cede the writer's point after all. It can hardly be denied.

If you have a problem with the Jesuits or if Bush has a problem with the tradition of all orthodox Christians in revering the Bible and only the Bible as the inspired Word of God, you can hardly blame me.

To overlook these careless remarks is to encourage them.

We all hope for the best with GWB. We hope his father's and grandfather's cronies don't distract him from the righteousness that most likely abides in his heart.

We hope that these obvious snubs to Christian truth are merely political expediency, and will one day be erased by loud, vocal testimony.

This year's White House Christmas card was a chance to make a small but significant effort to illustrate his beliefs. For whatever reason, he passed on the opportunity in favor of vapid fence-sitting.

I'm willing to wait in anticipation of an upcoming annihilation of the evil-doers.

Sooner than later.

The Christian Conservative from Texas is an act that Bush performed in the 2000 Gop Primary because Alan Keyes was creaming him in the debates on social issues. The truth of the matter is that George W Bush is a lapsed Episcopalian liberal Agnostic from Hartford Connecticut.
