Costi Hinn is an American pastor and author known for publicly criticizing the "prosperity gospel" televangelism model popularized by his uncle, Benny Hinn.
He spent years participating in international healing crusades and ministry events associated with the Benny Hinn organization, before distancing himself from the movement in the early 2010s.
Benny Hinn's televangelist prosperity gospel empire teaches that faith and donations can bring wealth and health. Hinn's luxurious lifestyle and ministry finances were scrutinized, along with those of other televangelists, in the US Senate in 2008 amid concern about their tax-exempt status. In 2017, IRS agents executed a search warrant at his multimillion-dollar ministry headquarters. No resulting charges or enforcement action have ever been publicly announced.
Costi Hinn speaks to Business Insider about his experiences inside the televangelist world, including private jets, luxury lifestyles, staged healing environments, and fundraising tactics used by some high-profile ministries.
The board of directors of Benny Hinn Ministries disputes Costi's depiction of Benny Hinn and the organization, saying in an emailed statement: "The allegations and characterizations attributed to Costi Hinn are false and categorically rejected."

Whenever I read or hear Benny Hinn’s name of think of Benny Hill and can’t get Yakety Sax out of my head.
If people would simply test the televangelists doctrine against biblical doctrine, they could see through the charlatans. But nobody even reads the Bible nowadays. There’s a sucker born every minute.
Many of these televangelists are scum, but they have a long way to go to come up with a grift as diabolical as the doctrine of purgatory. At least televangelist only rob you when you’re alive. The Church of Rome robs you and/or your family when you’re alive and dead. It’s like paying fire insurance into perpetuity.
And most televangelists just falsely promise you health and wealth, while Rome just promotes endless fear and anxiety of something that they have ZERO scriptural proof of.
Just like Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker.

I think much of what he says also applies elsewhere, i.e. modern environmentalism, feminism, etc.
It’s really a piece about understanding groups and how to manipulate them. In this case, God and religion is simply used as the mechanism and since everyone around the “crook” benefits from the gravy train, they rationalize what they are doing. There is always this inner circle of loyal folks that do the leaders bidding.
